The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: the amendments to the law "on the educative nature coercive measures to minors" make law "on educative nature coercive measures to minors" (Republic of Latvia Supreme Council and Government Informant, 1993, 24/25.nr.; The Saeima of the Republic of Latvia and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 1994, no. 9) the following amendments: 1. Replace the words "the whole law training and re-education institutions" (the fold) with the words "social adjustment of educational institutions" (the fold) and the words "training institution" (folds) – with the words "educational institution" (fold).
2. Express article 8 by the following: ' article 8. Social adjustment in education, if necessary, provide juvenile treatment from alcohol, narcotic, psychotropic or toxic substances for dependencies and other diseases. "
3. Replace the words "in article 9 of the Council of Ministers in the order" by the words "cabinet order".
4. To supplement the law with the following transitional provisions: "the transitional arrangements for training and re-education institutions until September 1, 2004 will be transformed into the social adjustment of educational institutions. To training and re-education institutions transform on the social adjustment of educational institutions in the statutory social adjustment tasks carried out by educational institutions teaching and re-education institutions. "
