The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: law on the support of the unemployed and jobs seekers to make the unemployed and job seekers support Act (Republic of Latvia Saeima and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 2002, nr. 12; 2004, nr. 11), the amendments are as follows: 1. Replace the words "throughout the Act the national employment plan" (the fold) with the words "national action plan for employment" (the fold) and the words "paid temporary public works" (folds) – with the words "temporary work" salaried (the fold).
2. in article 3, first paragraph: Add to paragraph 4 after the words "persons who have a particular disability" with the words "persons with mental disabilities (action" supported work ")";
Replace in paragraph 4, the words "persons after maternity leave" with the words "persons two months of parental leave (parental period) end";
supplemented with paragraph 5 by the following: "5) measures business or self-employment."
3. To make article 4 sixth part as follows: "(6) the cabinet shall determine their business licensing and supervisory procedures that provide job placement services as well as government fees and the arrangements for payment of the licence or the extension of the term of validity of the licence (renewal)."
4. the third paragraph of article 6: express the following in paragraph 14: "14) licenses and monitors merchants that provide job placement services (other than job placements of persons on board vessels);";
Replace paragraph 17, the words "general average or average vocational education" with the words "General, special or vocational schools".
5. Replace article 8, paragraph 1, second subparagraph, the words "employment plan" with the words "employment promotion plan".
6. Supplement article 9, second subparagraph, after the words "measures competitive" with the words "measures for initiating business or self-employment".
7. Supplement article 10, first paragraph, point 1, the words "or has received a permit to termiņuzturēšan due to the alternative granting status in Latvia".
8. Supplement article 12 first paragraph with the following paragraph 13: "13) abandonment of unemployment status by submitting an appropriate statement of the State employment agency."
9. Replace the first part of article 14, paragraph 5 of the "b" section, the words "if it is a contract of employment for a period of up to two months" with the words "If a worker's status for a period of up to two months in accordance with the law" on State social insurance ".
10. Add to article 15, paragraph 1, the words "or has received a permit to termiņuzturēšan due to the alternative granting status in Latvia".
11. in article 16: Supplement to the second part of the article as follows: "(2) the first subparagraph is also set out in the person who corresponds to this law article 15 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6. the requirements of point and at least one of the following conditions: 1) which will welcome the employment contract on grounds relating to the urgent economic, organizational, technological, or similar activities;
2) which the education of General, special or vocational educational institution. ";

12. Chapter VI to express the following: "chapter Vi. Employment restrictions on the provision of services article 17. Job placement service (1) to provide job placement services (other than job placements of persons on ships) allowed the economic operators which have been issued by the State employment agency license.
(2) With work placements of persons on vessels authorized to engage in the economic operators which have been issued by the Ministry of transport license. "
13. transitional provisions supplementing paragraph 6 by the following: "6. Until a new cabinet from the date of entry into force of the provisions, but no longer than up to 30 June 2005 are applicable at the Cabinet of Ministers of 20 January 2003, the provisions of no. 26" licensing of legal persons and arrangements for monitoring job placement services for a fee, "to the extent they do not conflict with this Act."

State v. President Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga in Riga, 23 March 2005, an editorial added: the law shall enter into force on 6 April 2005.
