The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: the law on the amendments to the Railway Act to make Railway (the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 1998, no. 9; 1999, no. 5, 23; 2001, nr. 1; 2003, 6, 10, 23; 2004, nr. 8. Express article 22 the second sentence as follows: "Cabinet of Ministers determine the railway infrastructure design and construction, as well as the order in which they are accepted."

4. Express article 33, third subparagraph of paragraph 5 by the following: "5) examine the construction plan of the railway infrastructure and make decisions for them, the issue of a building permit and control how the railway infrastructure construction participants to comply with this law and other regulatory laws, the construction requirements;".
5. Supplement article 40 with 2.1 part as follows: "(21) investigating railway accidents, people who perform this investigation has the right to get acquainted with the treatment of the authorities and to receive from them information on rail traffic accident victims ' State of health."
6. transitional provisions be supplemented with 23 and 24 as follows: "Cabinet of Ministers 23.1 January 2008 issue of this law article 22 referred to in the second sentence of the rules for the use of railway infrastructure design and construction, as well as the order in which they are accepted into service. Up to the date of entry into force of the relevant provisions, but no longer than 1 January 2008 in force on the Cabinet of Ministers of 2 December 1997, the Regulation No. 394 "… railway", in so far as they do not conflict with this Act.
Amendment 24 Article 23 of this law for the second sentence of the second paragraph and the exclusion of the amendment to article 33 of this law in its paragraph 5, third paragraph the expression of the new version shall enter into force on January 1, 2008.
