The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: amended individual data protection Act do for individuals in the data protection Act (the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 2000, no. 9; 2002, 23; 2007, nr. 3, 8. nr.) the following amendments: 1. in article 11: replace paragraph 6, the words "the legitimate rights and interests of" with the words "right or legitimate interest";
to supplement the article with the following paragraph 12: ' 12) processing of personal data necessary for the physical or legal person's rights or legitimate interests, requiring compensation under the insurance contract. "
2. Express article 15, first subparagraph as follows: "(1) in addition to this law, 8 and 9 the rights referred to in article the data subject shall have the right to get all the information gathered about him in any of the processing of personal data in the system, unless the disclosure of this information is not prohibited by law, protection of national security and in the area of criminal law or to ensure the public interest in tax matters."
3. To supplement the law with the informative reference to European Union directives as follows: "Informative reference to European Union directive included provisions in the law arising from the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 October 1995 directive 95/46/EC on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data." The law shall enter into force on the day following its promulgation.
