The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: the amendments to the law "on prevention of conflict of interest in the activities of public officials" to make the law "on prevention of conflict of interest in the activities of public officials" (Latvian Saeima and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 2002, no. 11, no. 12; 2003; 2006, 2., no. 20; 2007, nr. 14), the amendments are as follows: 1. To supplement article 7 fifth with 3.2 paragraph by the following: "32) position in a corporation where the State or municipal corporation is a member, if it is related to national or local interests in this society, do not create a conflict of interest and has received its public officials or collegiate bodies written authorization, which the person appointed, nominated or confirmed; ".
2. Replace 8.1 the first, second and third paragraph, the words "and the fifth" in paragraph 4, the words and figures "the fifth subparagraph 3.1, 3.2 or in paragraph 4".
3. Supplement article 9 to the fifth by the following: "(5) a public official who, in accordance with article 7 of this law the fifth subparagraph of point 3.2 holding posts in the Corporation in which the State or a municipal corporation is a participant, forbidden to make money from the corporations in which the Government or municipal corporation is a member and in which the public official takes the post."
4. Replace article 30 in part 2.1 words and "fifth" in paragraph 4, the words and figures "the fifth subparagraph 3.1, 3.2 or in paragraph 4".
The law shall enter into force on the day following its promulgation.
The Parliament adopted Act of 13 November 2008.
President Zatlers in Riga, v. 2008. on 21 November, the Editorial Note: the law shall enter into force on 22 November 2008.
