The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: the amendments to the law "on the city, district, County and district electoral commissions and polling stations commissions" make law "on city, State, County and district electoral commissions and polling stations commissions" (Latvian Saeima and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 1995, nr. 12; 1998, no. 15; 2000, no. 23; 2002, no. 15; 2004, nr. 5; 2006, nr. 20) the following amendments : 1. 2. Turn off all over the word of the law "(the Council)" (fold).

4. Express article 1, the first, second, third and fourth subparagraph by the following: "(1) parliamentary elections, European parliamentary elections, referenda, as well as of the City Council and District Council (hereinafter Council) for the preparation of elections in each city and municipality of the Republic of voters is up respectively of the city Electoral Commission and the District Electoral Commission (hereinafter referred to as the Election Commission) 7-15 members. The Electoral Commission shall determine the number of members in the Council.

Article 23: make the first paragraph by the following: "(1) the city and County of the Republic Election Commission provides a parliamentary election, the election of the European Parliament and the Council, as well as the election law, in the cases provided for in the referendum and the whole preparation.";
the third part of the present paragraph 3 by the following: "3) City Council and District Council election law;".
13. Article 24: to supplement the first part with 8.1 and 8.2 points as follows: ' 81) after the election complete, the Central Election Commission in the order received the precinct Commission vote counting protocols and other materials, check the precinct Commission records and return it to the Central Election Commission;

18. To make article 25, first paragraph, points 11 and 12 as follows: ' 11) forward its decision on the validation of the results of the elections together with the Election Commission protocols Central Election Commission;

20. Make the article 26 as follows: "article 26. 21. Article 31 of the expression by the following: ' article 31. The law shall enter into force on the day following its promulgation, but this law 1-14, 16, 18, 19, 20 and 21 — July 1, 2009.
