The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: the law of information society services in the information society Services Act (the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 2004, nr. 23; 2005, nr. 24) as follows: 1. Article 9: to make the fourth subparagraph by the following: "(4) electronic mail or other communications through a publicly available electronic communications services, the use of a commercial, if you use an invalid email address not a valid phone number or fax number to which the recipient can send a request to terminate communications, or if the service is not taken into account the requested waiver of further commercial notifications. ";
to supplement the article with the sixth part as follows: "(6) in the first, second and third subparagraphs specified prohibitions and restrictions for commercial communication sending natural persons."
2. Supplement article 13 with the sixth part as follows: "(6) the supervisory authority has the obligation to perform a check of the article 9 of this law are complied with, if one year one recipient has received at least 10 commercial announcements from one provider, and if the recipient has submitted to the supervisory authority for their complaint."
The law shall enter into force on July 1, 2009.
The Parliament adopted the law of 12 June 2009.
