The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: the amendments to the law "on public holidays, Memorial days and celebrated" make law "on holidays, Memorial days and celebrated" (Republic of Latvia Supreme Council and Government Informant, 1990, no. 42; The Saeima of the Republic of Latvia and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 1995, nr. 10, 22; 1997, nr. 3, 13; in 1998, 1., no. 15; 2000, 7, no. 12; 2002, no. 9; 2007, no. 13) the following amendments: Add to article 2 after the number and the words "of September 1 — knowledge day" with the words "the second Sunday of September – father's day;" and after the number, and the words "of September 22 — white day" — with the unit number and the words "1 October-International Day for the elderly;".
The law adopted by the Parliament in 2009 on September 10.
President Valdis Zatlers in Riga V 2009 September 30, editorial comment: the law shall enter into force on 14 October 2009.
