The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: law on radio and television to make radio and Television Act (Republic of Latvia Saeima and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 1995, nr. 20; 1996; 1997, no. 22, 11., 23., 24. no; 1998; 1999, no. 6, 22, 24. No; 2001; 2002, 6, no, no; 2003, 22 12. No; 2005, no. 2; 2009, no. 2., 3.) the following amendments 1. in article 15: to make a fifth by the following: "(5) the broadcasting authorization rights granted is not transferable to another person, other than the cases referred to in part 5.1.";
Add to article 5.1 part as follows: "(51) public-private partnership in accordance with the procedure laid down in the law on national radio and Television Council is entitled to transfer the concession to another person (the broadcaster) public service broadcasting some programs and the initial distribution. In this case the broadcasting permit is issued for the concession contract period not exceeding five years. On the following broadcast of the permit is not a duty payable and shall not apply to the third paragraph of this article, the terms for the renewal of the broadcasting licence. ";
to complement the eighth with the following sentence: "this provision shall not apply to this article in cases referred to in part 5.1."
2. Express article 42, the first paragraph by the following: "(1) the Council shall establish the composition of the Parliament, elected five members."
3. Supplement article 57 with the sixth subparagraph by the following: "(6) the Latvian radio, Latvian Radio Choir supports the activities of the national cultural order."
4. transitional provisions: exclude paragraph 13;
transitional provisions be supplemented by the following paragraph 25: ' 25. Those national radio and Television Council members elected before the date of entry into force of this law, amendments to the first paragraph of article 42 of the new Act, the expression continues until the end of its mandate. To new electronic media industry regulatory act date of entry into force of the Saeima elects new national radio and Television Council only if the national radio and Television Council members is less than five. "
The law shall enter into force on the day following its promulgation.
The Parliament adopted the law of 1 October 2009.
