The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: amended Railway Act to make the Railway Act (the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 2001, nr. 3; 2002, 9. No; 2006, nr. 1; 2007, 15. no; 2009, 12. no) the following amendments: 1. To supplement article 3 with the second part as follows: "(2) questions relating to the carriage of passengers and luggage by rail transport and use procedures be governed by the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2007 Regulation (EC) no 1371/2007 on rail passengers ' rights and obligations. "

3. To supplement the law with article 4.1 as follows: "article 4.1. Domestic rail passenger and luggage carriage rules (1) the domestic rail transport of passengers and luggage in addition to the law referred to in article 3 of the regulations governing public transport law and on the basis of the Cabinet of Ministers issued the rules.

The law shall enter into force on the day following its promulgation.
The Parliament adopted the law in 2009 on 12 November.
