The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: the law on fire protection and fire-fighting to make fire and fire Act (Republic of Latvia Saeima and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 2002, nr. 23; 2003, 2, 13, no. 23; 2004, nr. 9; 2005, 2., no. 14; 2006, no. 14, no. 3; 2008) the following amendments: 1. Supplement article 14 with 1.2 part as follows: "(12) on the basis of international treaties until the State fire and rescue service fire department arrival time clear and rescue operations in the territory of the Republic of Latvia can be controlled by the Member States of the European Union, fire safety, fire and rescue service's top official, who is on the scene. "
2. Turn off the second subparagraph of article 21.

4. To supplement the law with article 35.1 of the following: ' article 35.1. Officials with a special service rank officer with a special service rank system of the Ministry of the Interior is the authority under which the job carried out this Act and other regulations laid down by the fire, fire-fighting, rescue or civil protection measures and with a special service rank. "
Transitional provision of this law article 2 and 3 come into force on May 1, 2010.
The Parliament adopted the law of 21 January 2010.
