The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: the amendments to the law "on the protection of cultural monuments" make law "on the protection of cultural monuments" (Republic of Latvia Supreme Council and Government Informant, 1992, nr. 10; 1993, 24/25, 36 no; The Saeima of the Republic of Latvia and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 1995, no. 7; 2001, 24 no; 2003, no. 24; 2005, no. 11; 2008, no. 24; Latvian journal, 2009, 188. nr.; 2010, no. 183; 2013, no 6.) the following amendments: 1. in article 18.2: replace the third paragraph, the words "one year" with the words "three years"; Supplement to the fifth article as follows: "If the Court decides on the unlawfully removed the subject of art or antique-owner, possessor, or its holder is entitled to fair compensation according to the circumstances of the case, if he proves that the subject concerned, obtaining, acted with due diligence, having regard to all the circumstances of the acquisition, especially the documentation on the subject's origin, the necessary export licences in accordance with the law of the requesting Member State of the the characteristics of the parties to the transaction, the price paid, whether the owner, possessor or holder has checked the stolen cultural object available registers and any other relevant information that he reasonably could have get, or the implementation of any other measure a person as good and thorough landlord would in such a situation. " 2. To supplement the law with the informative reference to European Union directives as follows: "Informative reference to European Union directive included provisions in the law arising from the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 may 2014. Directive No. 2014/60/EU on cultural objects unlawfully removed from the territory of a Member State returns and amending Regulation (EC) no 1024/2012 (recast)".
