The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: criminal law amendment to make the criminal law of the Republic of Latvia (Saeima and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 1998, no. 15; 2000, no. 12, 13, 15; 2001; 2002, nr. 11, 16, 22, 23 no; 2003, 10, 15; 2004, nr. 2, 3, 4, 6, 11, 12, 13; 2005, nr. 2, 11, 12, 13, 20, 21; 2006, no 1., 7., no. 22; 2007 3, no. 15; 2008, 3, nr. 24; 2009, 13, 15, 21. no; Latvian journal, 2009, 193. no; 2010, nr. 178.) following amendment: Add to transitional provisions with paragraph 9 by the following: "9. the 2010 October 21 Act passed amendments to the Criminal Code" in the "transitional provisions 1 and 2 of regulation provided for in part on the Court, the prosecution and pre-trial investigation authorities in criminal proceedings-proceedings for offences which are qualified by article 149 are applicable only to criminal proceedings where the crime qualified by article 149 of the criminal code, first paragraph. The Court, the prosecution and pre-trial investigation authorities in existing criminal proceedings for criminal offences committed by 2010 31 December and qualified by article 149 of the criminal code the second, third and fourth subparagraphs, of the qualifications of the offence does not regard the amended and the penalties applicable to persons under the law, which was in force until 31 December 2010. The law shall enter into force on January 1, 2011.
The Parliament adopted the law in 2010 on December 2.
