The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: the amendments to the law "on settlements with the unprocessed agricultural producers" make law "on settlements with the unprocessed agricultural producers" (the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 1995, nr. 24; 1998, nr. 4; 1999; 2000, no. 22, no. 6) as follows: 1. Replace the words "throughout the Act" (the number and fold) with the word "businessman" (the number and fold).
2. Express article 1 point 2 as follows: "2) unprocessed agricultural producers (suppliers): a natural or legal person engaged in agriculture and distributes their own grown plants or animal products are not original in processed form, as well as the appropriate agricultural service cooperatives."
3. Put 2, 3 and 4 of the article as follows: "article 2. (1) the law specifies the order in which payment is made between unprocessed agricultural products (hereinafter referred to as the products), producers (suppliers) and business operators engaged in production processing, marketing or use of products in their pursuit of economic activities (hereinafter referred to as the operator).
(2) contracts concluded by the expected payment deadline may not exceed 30 days from the date of delivery of the products. This payment deadline does not apply to grain delivery contract.
3. article. Settlements between producers (suppliers) and merchants are made within 10 days from the date of delivery of the products. The settlement referred to in this article shall not apply to contracts in which the due date laid down in accordance with article 2 of this law the second part.
4. article. If the settlement of production delivery is not made within 10 days from the date of delivery of the products or the time limits laid down in a contract concluded by the trader for the delay shall be paid together with interest in accordance with civil law. "
