AND COOPERATION IN SOUTHEAST ASIA

It is willing to guarantee a proper increase in cooperation with all nations that love peace both in and outside the Southeast Asian region, especially neighboring countries in the Southeast Asian region.

Weighing the Paragraph 5, the Opening of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation in Asia, made in Bali, on 24 March 1976 (subsequently called the Treaty of Friendship) with regard to the importance of cooperation with all peoples of peace-loving nations, both inside and outside of the Southeast Asian region, in an effort to improve world peace, the poverty, and the centenary.

HEREBY AGREES AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1
Article 18 Paragraph 3, the Treaty of Friendship shall be amended as follows:
" Countries outside of the Southeast Asia region can accommodate this Treaty with the consent of the entire country in the Southeast Asian region, namely Brunei Daarussalam, Kingdom of Cambodia, Republic of Indonesia, People's Democratic Republic of Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Republic of Indonesia The Philippines, the Republic of Singapore, the Kingdom of Thaliand and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam ".

Section 2
This protocol must be passed and will begin in effect on the date of the Charter of the Last Concern of the Great Supreme Outrage.

(THE SECOND PROTOCOL OF TREATY CHANGES OF FRIENDSHIP AND COOPERATION IN SOUTHEAST ASIA).

Section 1
Authorized Second Protocol Amending the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (Second Protocol Changes to the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation in Southeast Asia), as a result of the 31st Annual ASEAN Foreign Ministers ' Meeting on July 25, 1998 in Manila, Philipina whose copy of the original manuscript was in English and translated into Indonesian as attached to this Presidential Decree.

Section 2
In the event of a difference of interpretation between the translation of the Protocol in Indonesian with a copy of the original English text as referred to in Article 1, then the original copy of the manuscript is in the language of the original text. English.

Hereinafter referred to the High Contracting Parties:

DESIRING to ensure that there is approppiate enhancement of cooperation with all peace loving nations, both within and outside Southeast Asia and in particular, the US-based States of the Southeast Asia region;

RELATED Paragraph 5 of the preamble of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia done at Denpasar, Bali, on 24 February 1976 (hereinafter referred to as the Treaty of Amity which refers to the need for cooperation with all peace-loving nations, both within and outside Southeast Asia, in the furtherance of world peace, stability and harmony.

HEREBY AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:

Article 1
Article 18 Paragraph 3, of the Treaty of Amity shall be amended to read as follows:
States outside Southeast Asia may also accede to this Treaty with the consent of all the Statets in Sounsians Asia, namely, Brunei Darussalam, the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Republic of Indonesia, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, the Union of Myanmar, the Republic of the Philippines, the Republic of Singapore, the Kingdom of Thailand and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Article 2
The Protocol shall be subject to ratification and shall come into force on the date the last instrument of ratification of the High Contracting Parties is deposited.
