aterials of the Convention are as follows:
., 1. Anti-personnel land mines are designed-can-explode, because of being trampled, approached, or touched by a person, so that it can paralysed, injure or kill one or more people.
., 2. Any State of the Parties in any situation is obligated to not use, develop, manufacture, acquire, store and transfer to anyone, directly or indirectly of anti-personnel land mines, as well as help, push or affect anyone in any way to engage in various activities prohibited by the Convention.
., 3. Each party is required to destroy an anti-personnel landmine that is still in its possession and guarantee the extermination of its anti-personnel landmines within four (four) years after the Convention for a Country. Each Party Country may submit a request for an extension of the anti-personnel landmine extermination time to 10 (ten) years.
., 4. Each Party country is allowed to retain or transfer a number of anti-personnel landmines to the benefit of training, search, purging, and extermination of anti-personnel landmines.
5. Each State of the Party has a right and an obligation:

., a., a. Gaining and providing assistance from other parties in terms of care, rehabilitation, social reintegration of the economy for landmines as well as public awareness programs of the dangers of anti-personnel land mines.
., b. Participate in the exchange of equipment, materials and information science and technology related to the implementation of the Convention.
., 6. Each Party of the Parties must provide a report to the United Nations Secretary-General within 180 days after the enactment of the Convention for the State of the United States regarding the national implementation of the provisions of the Convention.
., 7. Each State of the United States shall take legal, administrative, and other measures, including the enforcement of criminal sanctions to prevent and suppress the activities prohibited by the Convention, which is by anyone or in the United States. (CONVENTION ON BANNING USE, STOCKPILING, PRODUCTION
AND THE TRANSFER OF ANTI-PERSONNEL LAND MINES AND ITS MUSICIANS.

I. UMUM

.,, the safe and peaceful world of the world is one of the ideals of the Indonesian nation, as set forth in the Opening of the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia of Indonesia in 1945.
.,, Indonesia as part of the world society needs to always play an active role in international forums relating to disarmament efforts, banning, dissemination, and surveillance of weapons and implementing the Convention in order to participate. Carry out a world order based on independence, eternal peace, and social justice.
.,, the Government of Indonesia has signed Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production, and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on their Destruction (Convention on Banning for Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of the Anti-Personnel Land Mine and its Disservice, known as the Ottawa Convention, on 4 December 1997 in Ottawa, Canada.
., the Indonesian decision to sign the Convention is based on a commitment to the subject of the Convention, which is to end the suffering and fall of the victims due to the use of anti-personnel landmines especially civil society. The Government of the Republic of Indonesia also supports fully consideration that the use of anti-personnel land mines has hinded the efforts of economic development, reconstruction, and obstructing the return of post-conflict refugees.
.,, some of the interests of the government of the Republic of Indonesia in ratifying the Convention, namely:
., a., a. enhance the role as well as Indonesia as a supporting country of humanitarian value and build mutual trust among the party ' s countries;
., b. establishing bilateral and multilateral cooperation in disarmament in particular anti-personnel land mines;
.,, c. obtained access to information about mine technology and other technologies related to humanitarian interests;
D. reducing the humanitarian impact of anti-personnel landmines; and
e. consolidated the national legal system.

., based on the items above, Indonesia supports the efforts of landmine cleaning and rehabilitation of landmines victims in certain areas. Since becoming a signatory to the Ottawa Convention, Indonesia has participated actively in the meetings of the Conference of States Conference on the Ottawa Convention.
