SPECIAL ECONOMIC AREA DEVELOPMENT STEERING COMMITTEE
ON THE BATAM ISLAND OF THE BINTAN ISLAND AND THE CARIMMUNE ISLAND
WITH THE GRACE OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD
PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA,
.,, weighed: a. that to increase the development of special economic areas on Batam Island Bintan Island and Karimun Island on June 25, 2006, there has been an economic cooperation agreement for the development of special economic areas between the Government of the Republic. Indonesia and Government of the Republic of Singapore;
., b. that to carry out such cooperation is seen to form a Special Economic Area Development Direction Committee on Batam Island Bintan Island and Karimun Island as part of the Joint Steering Committee and Joint Working Group created jointly by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of Singapore;
.,, Given: Article 4 of the paragraph (1) of the Basic Law of the Republic of Indonesia Year 1945;
DECIDED:
.,, SET: THE PRESIDENT ' S DECISION ON THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SPECIAL ECONOMIC AREA ON THE BATAM ISLAND OF BINTAN ISLAND AND THE ISLAND OF CARIMMUNES.
.,, FIRST: TO FORM A SPECIAL ECONOMIC AREA DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR ON THE ISLAND OF BATAM OF THE BINTAN ISLAND AND THE ISLAND OF CARIMMUNES WHICH FOR LATER IN THE DECISION OF THE PRESIDENT IS CALLED THE COMMITTEE OF THE DIRECTNESS.
., SECOND: a. The membership arrangement of the Steering Committee as referred to in the First Diktum is made up of:
Chairman: Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs;
.,, Member: 1. Finance Minister;
2. Trade Minister;
3. The Minister of Industry;
4. The Minister of the Interior;
5. Minister of Law and Human Rights;
6. The Minister of Labour and Transmigration;
7. Cabinet Secretary;
8. Head of the State Police of the Republic of Indonesia;
9. Head of the National Tanahan Agency;
10. Head Of The Capital Planting Coordination Body;
11. Governor of Riau Islands Province.
., b. Steering committee on duty:

., 1) Conduct oversight of the implementation of cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of Singapore in the development of special economic areas on Batam Island Bintan Island and Karimun Island;
.,, 2) Provide policy directives to encourage investment promotion activities to guarantee the successful development of special economic areas on Batam Island Bintan Island and Karimun Island;
.,, 3) Gives consideration to the proposed investment in Batam Island of Bintan Island and Karimun Island.
.,, THIRD: Chair of the Steering Committee as well as sitting as Co-Chair in the Joint Steering Committee set up by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of Singapore.
.,, FOURTH: a. In the implementation of its duties the Steering Committee is assisted by the Working Group chaired by the Minister of Commerce and the Head of Capital Planting Coordination Agency as the Daily Execuer.
., b. The Working Group is responsible and reports the implementation of its duties to the Steering Committee.
., KELIMA: Chair of the Working Group as referred to in the fourth LETTER of the letter a while sitting as Co-Chair in the Joint Working Group set up by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of Singapore.
., SIXTH: A. The membership of the Working Group as referred to in the fourth LETTER of the letter a is further established by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs as Chairman of the Steering Committee.
., b. Members of the Working Group as well as represent the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in the Joint Working Group created by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and Government of the Republic of Singapore
.,, SEVENTH: a. The Steering Committee is below and is responsible to the President.
., b. The Committee on Steering Committee reports on the activities and development of its duties regularly or at any time to the President.
.,, EIGHTH: In the exercise of its duties the Steering Committee and the Working Group may invite or request assistance from government officials or other deemed necessary parties.
.,, NINTH: All costs required in the course of implementation of the Presidential Decree are charged to the State Budget and Shopping Budget.
.,, TENTH: Further provisions necessary for the implementation of the Presidential Decree are set by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs as Chairman of the Committee of the Director.
ELEVENTH: This President ' s decision comes into effect on the set date.
