b. that the service and the sacrifice of a citizen of Indonesia who has struggled, defending, and maintaining the sovereignty of the unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and/or join the implementing world peace, the State needs to provide awards and honours in the form of the sign of Honor Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia;
c. that Act No. 7 in 1967 about the Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia have yet to fully reflect the appreciation appropriately against the service and sacrifice of Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia in fighting for, defending, and maintain the unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and/or in implementing world peace so needs to be replaced;
d. that based on considerations as referred to in letter a, letter b, letter c, and the need to establish laws on the Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia;
Remember: 1. Article 5 paragraph (1), article 15, and article 30 of the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia in 1945;
2. Act No. 20 of 2009 about Titles, Honours, and the sign of honor (Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 94 in 2009, an additional Sheet of the Republic of Indonesia Number 5023);
Together with the approval of the HOUSE of REPRESENTATIVES of the REPUBLIC of INDONESIA and the PRESIDENT of the REPUBLIC of INDONESIA DECIDES: setting: the law on VETERANS of the REPUBLIC of INDONESIA.

CHAPTER I GENERAL PROVISIONS article 1 In this Act, that is: 1. A Veteran of the Republic of Indonesia is a citizen of Indonesia joined in unity of armed official recognized by the Government be active in a war facing other countries and/or died in battle to defend and defend the sovereignty of the unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, or a citizen of Indonesia, who participated actively in the international troops under the mandate of the United Nations to carry out its mission of world peace , which has been designated as the recipient of Honors Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia.
2. 3. 4. Veterans of the peace of the Republic of Indonesia is a citizen of Indonesia who served actively in the international troops under the mandate of the United Nations in order to carry out the Mission of world peace, which has been designated as the recipient of Honors Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia.
5. 7. Veterans of the peace of the Republic Indonesia is a posthumous citizen of Indonesia who served actively in the international troops under a United Nations mandate that autumn in order to carry out the Mission of world peace, which has been designated as the recipient of Honors Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia.
8. The sign of Honor Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia is the country awards and honours are awarded by the President of Indonesia to citizens who have been struggling, defending, and maintaining the sovereignty of the unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and/or join implementing world peace.
9. Republic of Indonesia Veterans Benefits that Veterans Allowances hereafter are the allowances that are the awards and honours of the country.
10. The Fund's Honorary Veteran of the Republic of Indonesia which is hereinafter referred to as the honorary Fund is an amount of money that is given every month which is the awards and honours from the State.
11. A citizen of Indonesia which is hereinafter referred to as Citizens are the ones the nation of Indonesia and the people of other nations who ratified in accordance with the provisions of the legislation. 12. Every person is an individual person and/or legal entity.
13. the Minister is the Minister of the organizing Affairs of the Government in the field of Defense.
Article 2 the awarding of Honors Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia was carried out based on the principle of: a. kejuangan;

b. nationality; and c. the welfare.

CHAPTER II the INDONESIAN VETERAN TYPE of article 3 (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Veteran Type is determined based on the events of keveteranan.
(2) the type of Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia as referred to in subsection (1) consists of: a. a Veteran freedom fighter of the Republic of Indonesia;

b. Veteran defender of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia;

c. Peacekeeping Veteran Republic of Indonesia; and d. the posthumous Veteran Republic of Indonesia.
Article 4 the Veteran defender of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia as stipulated in article 3 paragraph (2) letter b consists of: a. a Veteran defender of the Trikora;

b. Veteran Defenders Dwikora;

c. the Veteran defender of the Lotus; and d. a Veteran defender of the other set with the decision of the President.

Article 5 Posthumous Veteran Republic Indonesia as stipulated in article 3 paragraph (2) letter d consists of: a. a posthumous Veteran freedom fighter of the Republic of Indonesia;

b. Veteran defender of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia Posthumously; and c. the posthumous Veteran Peace Indonesia Republic.

CHAPTER III MARKING HONOR VETERANS of the REPUBLIC of INDONESIA article 6 Kehomatan of the Republic of Indonesia Veteran Mark can be granted to citizens who join in unity of armed official recognized by the Government be active in a war facing other countries and/or died in battle to defend and defend the sovereignty of the unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, or citizens who acted actively in international troops under the mandate of the United Nations to carry out its mission of world peace.

Article 7 (1) Honors Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia is given based on the events of keveteranan.

(2) the provisions concerning the events of keveteranan as mentioned in subsection (1) are governed by regulation of the President.

Article 8 (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Veteran Honors given by the President.
(2) the granting of Honorary Veteran of the Republic of Indonesia Sign referred to in subsection (1) are delegated to the Minister and/or other officials appointed by the President.
(3) the provisions on the awarding of Honors Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia as intended in paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) is set by government regulations.
Article 9 (1) Honors Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia can be given more than 1 (one) time.
(2) sign the honor of Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia as intended in paragraph (1) was given to the citizens who acted actively in other keveteranan events.
Article 10 of the Republic of Indonesia Veteran who in an extraordinary events can be given the honours and/or star services according to the provisions of legislation.

Article 11 the granting of Honorary Veteran of the Republic of Indonesia Sign referred to in article 6 shall not apply to nationals who: a. assist the enemies of the State unity of the Republic of Indonesia;


b. not loyal and betraying the basic State of Pancasila;
c. confinement or prison are convicted 6 (six) months or more on the basis of the Court ruling that a law is fixed; and/or d.  doing despicable.

CHAPTER IV RIGHTS of REPUBLIC of INDONESIA VETERAN article 12 (1) a Veteran freedom fighter of the Republic of Indonesia and Veteran defender of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia has the right to obtain: a. Allowance Veterans;

b. Honorary Fund;

c. cemetery in taman makam pahlawan; and d. certain rights from the State defined by regulation of the President.
(2) Veterans of the peace of the Republic of Indonesia has the right to obtain: a. cemetery in taman makam pahlawan; and b. specific rights from the State defined by regulation of the President. (3) the posthumous Veteran Republic of Indonesia are entitled to burial in the cemetery of heroes.

(4) the Veteran as referred to in paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) is entitled to a right of precedence.
(5) the provisions concerning the Alimony Fund veterans and Honor as referred to in paragraph (1) letter a and letter b is regulated with a government regulation. (6) the provisions concerning funeral as referred to in paragraph (2) Letter c is regulated by regulation of the President.

Article 13 (1) the widow, widower, or orphans of Veterans Posthumous freedom fighters of the Republic of Indonesia, a Veteran defender of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, posthumously, a Veteran freedom fighter of the Republic of Indonesia, and Veteran defender of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia was given the allowance the widow, widower, or orphaned.
(2) the widow, widower, or orphans of Veterans Posthumous freedom fighters of the Republic of Indonesia and Veteran defender of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia was posthumously given the Honorary Fund.
(3) further Provisions regarding alimony widow, widower, or orphaned and Honorary Fund referred to in subsection (1) and paragraph (2) is set by government regulations.
Article 14 (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Veteran who suffers from the defects in the event of keveteranan given the compensation and benefits as well as disability AIDS the body in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.

Article 15 (1) a Veteran freedom fighter of the Republic of Indonesia who died and had the guerrilla star entitled is buried in the national heroes ' Cemetery.
(2) the independence of the Republic of Indonesia Veterans, Veteran defender of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, and Veteran of the peace of the Republic of Indonesia who died as well as the posthumous Veteran Republic of Indonesia has the right to be buried in the cemetery of heroes.
(3) provision of more about the funeral of Veteran Republic of Indonesia as intended in paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) be governed by regulation of the President.
Chapter V OBLIGATION of VETERANS of the REPUBLIC of INDONESIA article 16 Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia is obligated: a. loyal to Pancasila and the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia in 1945;

b. holding State secrets and uphold the honor of the country;

c. upholding the good name and the code of honor Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia; and d. endeavor to become an element of society that is active in implementing the development program for national resilience.

Article 17 Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia in violation of the provisions referred to in article 16 may be revoked in accordance with the provisions of the keveteranannya legislation.

CHAPTER VI the INDONESIAN VETERANS LEGION Article 18 (1) Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia an organization incorporated in Republic of Indonesia Veteran Legions.
(2) the Republic of Indonesia Veteran Legion is the only container and means of struggle for all Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia. (3) Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia automatically become members of the Republic of Indonesia Veteran Legions.
(4) the articles of Association and Bylaws of the Legion Veteran Republic of Indonesia proposed by Congress and enacted by presidential decree.
Article 19 Government provide encouragement and assistance to the Republic of Indonesia Veteran Legions to carry out its work.

CHAPTER VII PROHIBITION of article 20 any person giving false information about himself or others which led to the assumption Honors Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia.

Article 21 any person prohibited claimed to be Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia, while he was not entitled to the term Veteran of the Republic of Indonesia so that resulted in losses of the other party.

CHAPTER VIII of the CRIMINAL PROVISIONS of section 22 any person who deliberately gives false information about himself or others which led to the assumption Honors Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia as stipulated in article 20 are convicted with imprisonment of not longer than 4 (four) years and/or a maximum fine of Rp RP 180.000.000 (one hundred and eighty million dollars), as well as the repealed keveteranannya.

Article 11 any person who claimed to be Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia while he was not entitled to the term Veteran of the Republic of Indonesia so that resulted in losses of the other party as stipulated in article 21 are convicted with imprisonment not more than 5 (five) years and/or a maximum fine of Rp RP 225.000.000 (two hundred twenty-five million rupiah).

CHAPTER IX TRANSITIONAL PROVISIONS Article 24 by the time this law comes into force, granting the honorary sign of the filings of Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia which is in the process still proceed based on Act No. 7 in 1967 about the Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia (the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia in 1967, number 17, an additional Sheet of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2853).

CHAPTER X the CLOSING PROVISIONS Article 25 at the time this law comes into force, all laws and regulations that are the rules of the implementation of Act No. 7 in 1967 about the Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia (the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia in 1967, number 17, an additional Sheet of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2826) stated to still remain in force throughout does not contradict or replaced based on these laws.

Article 26 by the time this law comes into force, the Act No. 7 in 1967 about the Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia (the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia in 1967, number 17, an additional Sheet of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2826) revoked and declared inapplicable.

Article 27 this Act comes into force on the date of promulgation.

In order to make everyone aware of it, ordered the enactment of this legislation with its placement in the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia.
