§ 1

(1) Vinegar For the purposes of this Regulation, the product containing, in 100 millilitres, at least 5 grams and not more than 15.5 grams of acid, calculated as anhydrous acetic acid, shall be produced and manufactured
1.
by vinegar fermentation from vinegar-containing liquids, even under dilution with water (Gärungsessig),
2.
by diluting acetic acid or acetic acid with water or
3.
by mixing fermentation vinegar with acetic acid, vinegar or vinegar from vinegar.
(2) vinegar sink within the meaning of this regulation is purified, diluted with water Acetic acid, which contains in 100 grams more than 15.2 grams (15.5 grams per 100 milliliters), but not more than 25 grams of anhydrous acetic acid.(3) For wine vinegar, the definition in Annex I (19) of Council Regulation (EC) No 1493/1999 of 17 May 1999 shall apply. § 2

(1) Vinegar, which contains more than 11 grams of acid in 100 millilitres, calculated as anhydrous acetic acid, and vinegar may be placed on the market only in closed containers, which are commercially available only in closed containers. are reliably resistant to expected stresses and are made of materials which are not attacked by vinegar and do not react in a dangerous manner with it. The containers must be in German and in clearly visible, easy-to-read lettering with the hint " Caution! Do not enjoy undiluted! " be provided.(2) The placing on the market within the meaning of this Regulation shall be the offer, the holding for sale, the holding, the sale and any other transfer to others. It shall be the same for commercial placing on the market if the products are submitted to members of cooperatives or similar establishments or to collective catering establishments. § 4

(1) Vinegar may only be placed on the market if it is marked as follows:
1.
Gärungsessig as "vinegar" in connection with the indication of the starting materials and raw materials;
2.
vinegar Acetic acid as "vinegar from acetic acid"; vinegar from vinegar as "vinegar from vinegar";
3.
with vinegar or vinegar from vinegar mixed vinegar vinegar "vinegar" with an indication "produced with the addition of vinegar";
4.
Gärungsessig mixed with acetic acid or vinegar from acetic acid as "vinegar" with the hint "produced with the addition of acetic acid".
(2) Acetic acid may only be placed on the market in commercial terms if it is labelled as such.(3) The amount of acetic acid and other acids derived from the starting materials or raw materials used or permitted additives (total acidity) is calculated as anhydrous acetic acid in the case of vinegar in grams per 100 millilitres, in the case of vinegar in grams per 100 grams, with the words "...% acid".(4) The particulars referred to in paragraphs 1 to 3 shall be made in German and in clearly visible, easily legible writing on or on the containers. § 4a

By way of derogation from § 3 (1) of the Food Labelling Regulation, you do not need to be specified:
1.
in fermentation vinegar, which is only made from a raw material or raw material and no other ingredient is added, the list of ingredients,
2.
for vinegar (§ 4 para. 1 no. 1 to 4) the minimum durability date.

(1) According to § 59 para. 1 no. 21 (a) of the food and feed code, it will be punished who, contrary to § 2 vinegar or acetic acid, does not shall be placed on the market in the form of containers or containers without the prescribed warning.(2) In accordance with Article 59 (1) (21) (a) of the Food and Feed Code, it shall be punished who, contrary to § 4 vinegar or vinegar, which is not marked in the prescribed manner or not in the prescribed manner, is liable to be placed on the market for commercial purposes.(3) Anyone who is negligent in committing an act referred to in paragraphs 1 and 2 shall act in an orderly way in accordance with Section 60 (1) of the Food and Feed Code (Food and Feed Code). This regulation applies in accordance with Section 14 of the Third Transfer Act of 4. January 1952 (Bundesgesetzbl.
