§ 1 purposes of statistics, arrangement as federal statistics

Federal statistics are carried out for the statistical presentation of the economic development for economic policy decisions and for the fulfilment of reporting obligations under the law of the European Union. Unofficial table of contents

§ 2 Survey areas

The surveys shall cover the service areas listed below in accordance with Annex I to Regulation (EC) No 1893/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 December 2006 establishing the statistical classification of the Economic sectors NACE Revision 2 and amending Council Regulation (EEC) No 3037/90 as well as certain EC Regulations on certain statistical domains (OJ L 327, 30.4.2004, p. 1), as amended, shall:

1. Section H - Transport and storage
Section J - Information and communication
Section M - the provision of professional,
Scientific and technical services-excluding divisions 72, 75 and 70.1
4. Section N - Provision of other economic services-
without division 77 and without the
Groups 81.1. and 81.3.

§ 3 Survey units and survey types

(1) Survey units are enterprises, institutions for the exercise of a freelance activity pursuant to Section 18 (1) (1) of the Income Tax Act, as well as legal persons under public law, which are listed in the above mentioned article. (2) Survey units, which have a turnover or income of at least EUR 15 million per year or at least 250 persons working independently, are obtained through surveys. The data which are stored in the statistical register in accordance with the first sentence of § 1 (1) of the Statistics Register Act at the time of selection are the decisive factors for the selection of the survey units to be included. (3) Data for all other survey units shall be obtained from administrative data transmitted to the statistical offices of the Federal Government and the Länder in accordance with the Administrative Data Use Law. § 4 periodicity, survey characteristics, reporting period, reporting date

Starting with the survey for the first calendar quarter of 2014, the following characteristics are collected on a quarterly basis:
1.
turnover and revenue generated by the survey unit in a quarter of a year,
2.
Number of persons employed by the survey unit at the end of the quarter, in the case of survey units with branches in several countries, in addition broken down by country,
3.
during the twelve months before the end of the quarter, mainly economic activity carried out by the survey unit.

§ 5 auxiliary characteristics

The auxiliary characteristics of the surveys are:
1.
the name and address of the survey units;
2.
Name, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses of the persons available for inquiries.

§ 6 Information to be provided

(1) In the case of the surveys, the obligation to provide information exists. The information according to § 5 (2) is voluntary. (2) The holders and the directors of the survey units are responsible for providing information. Unofficial table of contents

Section 7 Transmission of individual data

The Federal Statistical Office and the statistical offices of the Länder may apply to the supreme federal and state authorities for their use in relation to the legislative bodies and for the purposes of planning, but not for the regulation of individual cases, Submit tables with statistical results, even if table fields have only one case. Section 8 Regulation authorisation
