§ 3 survey units and collection types (1) survey units are companies, institutions for the exercise of a professional activity according to § 18 paragraph 1 No. 1 of the income tax Act, as well as legal persons of governed by public law, which are active in the areas of service referred to in paragraph 2.
(2) data collection units, which have sales or income from self-employed work amounting to at least EUR 15 million in the year or at least 250 persons, obtained through surveys. The data that are stored in the statistics register according to § 1 paragraph 1 sentence 1 of the statistical register Act at the time of the selection are decisive for the choice of to include survey units.
(3) information for all other survey units are obtained from administrative data transmitted by the statistical offices of the Federal and State Governments after the administrative data use Act.
