§ 1 Vocational Training

(1) The following activities shall be attributed to the Büchsenmacher craft:
1.
Design and manufacture of weapons parts and their assembly to firearms, in particular for hunting and sport,
2.
Maintenance, repair, maintenance and shooting of firearms,
3.
Take care of optical devices.
(2) The following knowledge and skills are to be attributed to the Büchsenmacher craft:
1.
knowledge of mechanics, including strength teaching,
2.
Knowledge of machine elements,
3.
Knowledge of optics,
4.
knowledge of the functioning, construction and use of firearms as well as recharging devices and components;
5.
Knowledge of soft and brazing,
6.
knowledge of the species, properties, names, use, processing and testing of the materials and auxiliaries,
7.
Knowledge of surface treatment and design, in particular engravings and inlays,
8.
Knowledge of internal, external and target ballistics,
9.
knowledge of weapons, in particular of hunting and sports weapons and types of ammunition,
10.
knowledge of hunting, weapons and explosives law,
11.
knowledge of the relevant provisions of accident prevention, occupational safety and health and safety at work, as well as environmental protection, in particular the protection of immission,
12.
knowledge of the relevant technical standards and guidelines,
13.
Make drafts, sketches and drawings,
14.
Reading explosion drawings,
15.
Cutting and machining of steel, non-ferrous metal, plastic, wood, horn and ivory, in particular by filing, sawing, chiseling, drilling, bending, straightening, rubbing, scraping, tapping, milling, turning, cutting and forging,
16.
Treat surfaces and carry out corrosion protection measures, in particular by grinding, polishing, spreading and brushing,
17.
Fabric treatment by annealing, hardening and tempering,
18.
Manufacture of unsolvable and detachable connections, in particular by means of soft and hard soldering, gas welding and arc welding, gluing, riveting, screws and pens,
19.
Assembling, commissioning, testing and setting of weapon parts, firearms and optical devices,
20.
Prepare and shoot firearms,
21.
Advise the customer on the safe handling of firearms,
22.
Maintenance and repair of the operating equipment, in particular of the tools, equipment and machines.

Examination requirements in Parts I and II of the Master Examination

§ 2 Structure, duration and existence of the practical test (Part I)

(1) In Part I, a master examination is to be completed and a work sample to be carried out. In the determination of the master examination work, the proposals of the test item should be taken into consideration as far as possible. (2) The preparation of the master examination thesis should not exceed 20 working days, the working sample no longer than twelve hours. (3) Minimum requirements for the existence of Part I are in each case sufficient performance in the master examination work and in the working sample. Unofficial table of contents

§ 3 Master Examination

(1) One of the following works is considered to be a master's thesis:
1.
Manufacture of a functional self-tensioner firearm with a drawn barrel, white finish, including the production of the back shaft,
2.
Manufacture of a functional disc sleeve with shaft or a functional disc gun with orthopaedic handle, white finish,
3.
Manufacture of a functional Bock double-flint with "side closed" and impact-piece ejector, white finished, including the production of the back shaft,
4.
Manufacture of a basal for a self-tensioner, double-hatch locking system including the rear,
5.
Manufacture of a combined pair of rollers with adaptation to an existing basal, including the rear,
6.
Manufacture of a complete Blitz lock with a back-back including the rear shaft for a tipping weapon.
The test specimen may be used for the work of number 1 to 3 prefabricated blanks. (2) The test specimen has a design sketch with main dimensions, the parts list and the Pre-calculation. After approval of these documents, the drawing is to be completed and handed over to the Master Examination Committee. (3) The post-calculation is to be delivered with the master examination thesis. § 4 Work sample

(1) As a working sample, one of the following works shall be carried out:
1.
Make and adjust a steel front for a tipping weapon,
2.
Take care of a telescopic sight with a hook and a self-made support foot made of full material and shooting the firearm,
3.
Make and fit an eccentric and locking wedge out of full material,
4.
Prepare a wooden front shaft including fish skin cutting for a tipping weapon,
5.
Make a turn-off and striker for a flash, anson or side lock.
(2) The working sample shall examine the most important skills and knowledge which could not be proved, or only insufficiently demonstrated, in the master examination work. Unofficial table of contents

§ 5 Examination of the subject-theoretical knowledge (Part II)

(1) In Part II, knowledge in the following five examination subjects shall be proven:
1.
Technical Mathematics: calculations from mechanics and ballistics;
2.
Technical drawing:
a)
Make sketches and drawings,
b)
Reading of explosion drawings;
3.
Technical technology:
a)
mechanics, including strength teaching,
b)
machine elements, in particular fitting,
c)
Optics,
d)
the functioning, construction and use of firearms, as well as recharging devices and components,
e)
surface treatment,
f)
Internal, external and target ballistics, as well as gun studies,
g)
Hunting, weapons and explosives law,
h)
relevant legislation on accident prevention, health and safety at work,
i)
Environmental protection requirements, in particular the protection of immission,
k)
machining and machining of materials,
l)
non-detachable and detachable connections, made in particular by means of soft and hard soldering, gas welding and arc welding, gluing, riveting, screwing and pin-ing;
4.
Material customer:
a)
the types, characteristics, names, use and processing of the materials and auxiliaries,
b)
Material testing,
c)
Microstructure treatment by annealing, hardening and tempering;
5.
Calculation: cost determination with all factors that are essential for price formation and calculations for the supply and post-calculation.
(2) The examination shall be carried out in writing and orally. (3) The written examination shall not exceed twelve hours, the oral examination shall not take more than half an hour. (4) The examinee shall be subject to the oral examination upon request. (5) The minimum requirement for the existence of Part II shall be sufficient performance in the examination subjects referred to in paragraphs 1, 3, 4 and 5.

§ 7 Additional requirements

The further requirements in the master examination were determined by the Regulation on common requirements in the master examination in the craft of 12 December 1972 (BGBl. 2381), as amended. Unofficial table of contents

§ 8 Berlin clause

This Regulation shall apply in accordance with Section 14 of the Third Transfer Act in conjunction with Section 128 of the Craft Code also in the Land of Berlin. Unofficial table of contents

Section 9 Entry into force

(1) This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 April 1982. (2) The provisions to be applied further pursuant to Section 122 of the Craft Code shall no longer be applicable to the extent to which they regulate the subject matter of this Regulation. Unofficial table of contents
