§ 1 Establishment
(1) A Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) is set up as an independent federal authority in the business unit of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. (2) The President of the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) is appointed by the Federal President on a proposal from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

§ 2 Tasks
(1) The Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) shall carry out administrative and supervisory tasks of the Federal Government, which shall be carried out by the Federal Office for Foreign Affairs, the War Weapons Control Act, the Atomic Energy Act or other federal laws or on the basis of the Federal Office for Economic and Monetary Affairs. of these laws.
