The Ambassadors of the French Republic, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United States of America have written by letter of 8 June 1990, the Ambassador of France with the same date to the Federal Chancellor , in particular in the letter of approval of the Basic Law of 12 May 1949 in relation to the direct election of the Berlin representatives to the Bundestag and their full voting rights in the Bundestag and in the Bundesrat, has sent their reservations.
The letter shall be published below.

Bonn, 8 June 1990
Dear Mr Chancellor,
We would like to inform you that in the light of recent developments in Germany and in the international situation, the three Western powers have re-examined certain aspects of their reservations to the Basic Law.
The reservations of the three Western powers with regard to the direct election of the Berlin representatives to the Bundestag and the full voting rights of the representatives of Berlin in the Bundestag and in the Bundesrat, which, in particular, in the letter of approval of 12 May 1949 to the Basic Law are hereby repealed.
The Allies ' attitude " means that the bonds between the western sectors of Berlin and the Federal Republic of Germany are maintained and developed, taking into account that these sectors, as before, do not form part (constitutive part) of the The Federal Republic of Germany is, and continues to be, not governed by it ", remains unchanged.
We ask you, Mr Chancellor, to approve the insurance of our outstanding high respect.

Monsieur le Chancelier,
Nous souhaitons vous faire savoir que les trois Puissances occidentales ont reexamine certains aspects de leurs reserves a l' egard de la loi fondamentale, a la lumiere des recentes evolutions intervenues en Allemagne et dans la situation internationale.
Les reserves des trois Puissances occidentales, concernant les elections directes au Bundestag et le plein droit de vote des representants de Berlin au Bundestag et au Bundesrat, visees en particulier dans la lettre du 12 mai 1949 approuvant la loi fondamentale, sont desormais levees.
La position des Allies, selon laquelle " les liens entre les secteurs occidentaux de Berlin et la Republique federale d' Allemagne seront maintenus et developpes, compte tenu de ce que ces secteurs continuent de ne pas etre un element constitutif de la Republique federale d' Allemagne et de n' etre pas gouvernes par elle ", demeure inchangee.
