On the basis of § 1 para. 2 of the International Law on Maintenance of Maintenance of 19 December 1986 (BGBl. 2563), it is stated that reciprocity within the meaning of this Act is now also in relation to the States of the United States of America

is vouchable. In addition, it shall be made known that, in relation to the State of the United States,

the reciprocity in respect of child support is fully in place. In relation to the maintenance of a spouse, reciprocity is only guaranteed in so far as it is asserted together with a claim to a child's maintenance.
This notice shall be followed up by the notice of 16 December 1992 (BGBl. 1993 I p. 43).
