§ 1 Outline and content of the Master Examination

The master examination in the eye optician craft which is subject to admission includes the following independent test parts:
1.
the examination of the masterly direction of the essential activities (Part I),
2.
the examination of the necessary theoretical knowledge (Part II),
3.
the examination of the necessary business, commercial and legal knowledge (Part III) and
4.
the examination of the necessary vocational and occupational pedagogical knowledge (Part IV).

§ 2 Master examination profession

(1) The master test finds that the examinee is competent to carry out a business independently, to carry out technical, commercial and personnel management tasks, to carry out the training, to carry out his professional duties and to carry out his professional duties. Perform technical, commercial and personnel management tasks, in particular taking into account the operational organisation, the company training and further training, the quality management, the liability regulations labour protection law, data protection, environmental protection and information and communication technologies,
3.
Plan, organize, run, and monitor order fulfillment processes
4.
Carry out orders, in particular by taking into account manufacturing techniques, industry-standard software, professional legal regulations, guidelines and technical standards, personnel, materials and equipment, as well as possible applications of Apprentices,
5.
apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to the visual system in the supply of visual aids,
6.
Measure and assess visual acuity,
7.
Measuring vision and applying methods for the recognition of visual performance reductions, presenting results and justifying further action; detecting abnormalities of the eye,
8.
Identify and assess missitiy,
9.
Measure the refraction of the eyes using objective methods,
10.
Determine correction values with subjective measurement methods and determine the need for correction,
11.
Determine visual aids to solve vision problems depending on the visual task,
12.
Determine the manufacturing parameters for the production of visual aids,
13.
Select, measure, adjust and center eyeglass lenses, in particular special eyeglass lenses,
14.
Select, adapt and deliver contact lenses and eyeglasses according to optical, anatomical, economic and aesthetic aspects,
15.
Handle and store contact lenses and hygiene agents, taking into account the requirement of professional legal regulations; select the hygiene means and place customers in the application;
16.
Select, adapt, modify, and deliver visual and electronic vision aids in the event of visual impairment as well as visual and electronic visual aids,
17.
Control and assess the manufacturing accuracy of visual aids, instruct customers in their use, and carry out follow-up and functional checks,
18.
Calculate services, create documentation.

Section 3 Outline of Part I

The Part I of the Master Examination comprises as examination area a master examination project and an expert discussion related to it. Unofficial table of contents

§ 4 Master examination project

(1) The test specimen shall carry out a master inspection project which corresponds to a customer order. The order-related customer requirements are set by the Master Audit Committee. The master inspection project consists of planning, implementation and documentation work. (2) As a planning work in accordance with paragraph 1, the test specimen develops an implementation concept and a calculation. In doing so, both the individual vision task and the economic aspects must be taken into account and alternatives are to be shown. (3) The following work must be carried out:
1.

§ 5 Technical Discussion

After completion of the Master's examination project, a technical discussion will be conducted. § 6 Examination period and existence of Part I

(1) The execution of the Master's examination project shall not last longer than two working days and the expert discussion shall not last longer than 30 minutes. (2) The Master's examination project and the expert discussion shall be assessed separately. The examination achievements in the Master examination project and in the expert discussion are weighted in a ratio of 2: 1. (3) A minimum requirement for the existence of Part I of the Master examination is a sufficient overall examination performance, with the examination neither in the master examination project nor in the expert discussion with less than 30 points may have been assessed. Section 7 Outline, duration and existence of Part II

(1) Through the examination in Part II, the examinee shall demonstrate his competence to act in the fields of action referred to in paragraph 2 by analysing and evaluating problems as well as pointing out and documenting solutions and thereby documenting and documenting current problems. distinguish and justify application possibilities of different correction means, taking into account the imaging properties,
c)
the requirements of optical spectacle adaption, taking into account anatomical, economic and aesthetic aspects, and assess and assess the
d)
show the possibilities of individual customer advice,
e)
Describe the measurement procedure for contact lens correction and establish case-related application,
f)
the mode of action of contact lenses, taking into account different materials and geometries, and justify application,
g)
Provide contact-lens hygiene and establish hygiene requirements,
h)
Describe the composition and mode of action of contact lens hygiene agents and justify use;
3.

h)
Represent damage intake to visual aids, propose repair methods and determine the necessary handling,
i)
Carry out pre-and post-calculation;
4.
Management and operational organisation The test specimen shall demonstrate that it is capable of carrying out the tasks of the management and the organisation of operations, taking into account the legal provisions, including the use of information and information systems. communication systems. In the respective task, several of the qualifications listed under (a) to (h) are to be linked:
a)
to identify operational costs, taking into account business-related costs,
b)
check operational cost structure; identify operational indicators,
c)
Develop marketing measures for customer care and the acquisition of new customers against the background of technical and economic developments,
d)
plan and present operational quality management,
e)
carry out tasks of human resources management; present the relationship between human resources management and personnel management and development;
f)
develop operational specific measures to comply with labour protection regulations and environmental protection, as well as to develop workplace design; assess potential hazards and define measures to prevent and eliminate risks;
g)
Plan and present operational and storage equipment,
h)
Presenting and assessing opportunities and risks of operational cooperation.
(4) The examination in Part II shall be carried out in writing. It should not last longer than three hours in each field of action. An examination period of six hours per day shall not be exceeded. (5) The overall assessment of Part II shall be calculated from the arithmetic mean of the individual evaluations of the fields of action referred to in paragraph 2. (6) Were in no more than two of the areas in which the evaluation was carried out. In the case of a minimum of 30 and less than 50 points, an oral supplementary examination may be carried out in one of these fields of action if it allows the passing of Part II of the Master examination. (7) A minimum requirement for the existence of Part II of the Master examination is a a total of sufficient examination performance. The examination of Part II has not been passed if:
1.
a field of action has been evaluated with less than 30 points, or
2.
two fields of action have been evaluated with fewer than 50 points after the additional examination has been carried out.

§ 8 General examination and procedural regulations, further regulations for the Master Examination

(1) The provisions of the Master Examination Procedure Ordinance of 17 December 2001 (BGBl. 2) The examination in parts III and IV of the Master Examination is determined by the General Master Examination Regulation of 26 October 2009. § 9 Transitional provision

The provisions of Section 7 (6) and (7) shall not apply to the examination procedures that have been initiated until 31 December 2011. These will be brought to an end in accordance with the previous regulations. Unofficial table of contents

Section 10 Entry into force, expiry of the external force

This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 January 2006.
