The 1997 Protocol of 1997, adopted by the Federal Republic of Germany in London on 9 June 1998 and adopted by the Conference of the Parties on 26 September 1997, amending the International Convention for the Prevention of Marine pollution caused by ships in the version of the 1978 Protocol to this Convention (BGBl. 1982 II p. 2; 1984 II p. 230), as last amended by the resolution (MEPC). 95 (46) of 27 April 2001 (BGBl. 2002 II p. 2942), is put into effect. The provisions of the Regulation prohibiting certain ozone depleting halogenated hydrocarbons (CFC Halon Prohibition Regulation) of 6 May 1991 (BGBl. I p. 1090) shall remain unaffected. Unofficial table of contents

Art 3

(1) Seeschiffe with a gross tonnage of 400 and more entitled to carry the Federal flag, as well as any fixed and floating drilling platform or other maritime facilities, shall be subject to the surveys provided for in Annex VI. 5 of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973. Valid certificates must be issued on such ships in accordance with the provisions of Regulations 6 and 8 of Annex VI in conjunction with Annex 1 to the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (International Convention on the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973) (International Certificate of (2) Inspection and certification are the responsibility of the Maritime Labour Cooperative pursuant to § 6 (1) sentence 1 of the Maritime Task Act of the Maritime Trade Association, which is the subject of Matters relating to ship technology and monitoring of aid abroad of the Germanic Lloyds. This Regulation shall enter into force on the date on which the Protocol enters into force in respect of the Federal Republic of Germany in accordance with its Article 6 (1). The date of entry into force shall be announced in the Federal Law Gazans.
