The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is authorized to implement an automated processing of personal data called "Studies in France".
The purpose of this treatment is to make it available to users of a teleservice of the electronic administration that allows the support of foreign students not nationals of a Member State of the European Union, a State party to the agreement on the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation residing abroad and wishing to study in France.
The list of countries concerned is annexed to this Decree.

The personal data categories recorded are:
1° Civil status:
(a) Name;
(b) First name;
(c) Address;
(d) Photography;
(e) Date and place of birth;
(f) Sex;
(g) Nationality;
2° Family situation;
3° Academic and professional courses:
(a) Biography;
(b) Education and training;
(c) Diploma;
(d) Distinctions;
(e) Professional situation;
4° Data on access, consultation, creation and modification of processing data.

I. - Have direct access to the data and information referred to in Article 2 because of their respective responsibilities and their need to know them:
1° Individually designated and specially authorized officials of the departments responsible for cultural, academic and higher education cooperation and information systems of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
2° Individually designated and specially authorized officials of the services responsible for academic cooperation, consular services, in the French embassies and consulates abroad, only for the records of their district;
3° Individually designated and specially authorized officers in higher education or training institutions agreed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, only for access to their records.
II. - Individually designated and specially authorized officers of the Department of Orientation and Life of Campuses of the Ministry of Higher Education may be consigned to all or part of the data referred to in Article 2 because of their respective responsibilities and within the limits of the need to know them.

The right of access and rectification provided for in the articles 39 and 40 of the law of 6 January 1978 referred to above shall be exercised directly with the department responsible for the higher education of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, direction of cultural, academic and research cooperation, 27 rue de la Convention, CS 91533, 75732 Paris Cedex 15.

The right of opposition under theArticle 38 of the Act of 6 January 1978 referred to above does not apply to this treatment.

The personal data referred to in Article 2 are retained in the treatment from the date of their information by the user until the end of the school year in active form and for a period of five years from the last approach of the student on the platform based on intermediate archives.
The traces of access and consultation, creation and modification of processing data are maintained for a period of six months.

The Order of August 6, 2007 establishing an automated treatment called CampusFrance is repealed.

The Director of Cultural, University and Research Cooperation is responsible for the execution of this Order, which will be published in the Official Journal of the French Republic.
