Entry into force: this decree comes into force on 1 November 2012.
Notice: This decree sets out the indiciary level applicable to officials of scientific and technological public institutions and the French Research Institute for the Exploitation of the Sea belonging to the bodies of research directors, research officers, research engineers, engineering engineers and engineering assistants, in particular by revising the ranks of engineering assistants at the summit level.

In theAnnex to Decree No. 48-1108 of 10 July 1948 the hierarchical classification of the ranks and jobs of State staff under the general pension system, in II bis of the section "National Education and Research", the lines relating to research directors, research officers, research engineers, engineering engineers, engineering assistants, research technicians, major technical assistants of research and technical assistants of research are removed.
The table in section 1 of the Order of March 29, 1984 fixing the indiciary leveling of officials of scientific and technological public institutions is repealed as it relates to the indiciary level applicable to the bodies of research directors, research officers, research engineers, engineering engineers, engineering assistants and research technicians.
This Order comes into force on the Effective Date of Decree No. 2012-1161 of 17 October 2012 amending Decree of 30 December 1983.
The Minister of Economy and Finance, the Minister of Higher Education and Research, the Minister of State Reform, Decentralization and Public Service, and the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, responsible for the budget, are responsible, each with regard to it, for the execution of this Order, which will be published in the Official Journal of the French Republic.
