Notice: Pursuant to Article L. 914-2 of the Rural and Maritime Fisheries Code, this Order sets out the composition and operating rules of the Scientific and Technical Liaison Committee for Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture.

The Prime Minister,
On the report of the Minister of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries, Rurality and Land Management,
Considering the rural code and the maritime fisheries, including its article L. 914-2;
Vu le Decree No. 2006-672 of 8 June 2006 the establishment, composition and functioning of the administrative commissions of an advisory nature,
Decrete:
The Scientific and Technical Liaison Committee for Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture is composed of twenty members:
(a) One Member and one Senator, appointed respectively by the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Speaker of the Senate;
(b) Five representatives from the marine fisheries and aquaculture sector, including:
- three representatives of the National Committee on Maritime Fisheries and Marine Livestocks;
a representative of the National Committee of Conchyliculture;
a representative of the Interprofessional Committee on Aquaculture Products;
(c) Five research representatives, appointed on the proposal of the Minister for Research, including:
― three representatives of the French Institute for the Exploitation of the Sea;
a representative of the National Museum of Natural History;
a representative of the Institute for Development Research;
(d) Two representatives of registered associations in accordance with the provisions of section L. 141-1 of the Environmental Protection Code, appointed on the proposal of the Minister for the Environment;
(e) A representative of a registered consumer association at the national level, in accordance with provisions of Article L. 411-1 of the Consumer Codedesignated on the proposal of the Minister responsible for consumption;
(f) Two personalities designated because of their fishing or aquaculture research skills;
(g) A representative of the Minister for Fisheries;
(h) A designated representative on a joint proposal by the Minister for the Sea and the Minister for the Environment;
(i) A representative of the Minister for Research.
Members referred to in b-i are appointed by order of the Minister for Maritime Fisheries and Marine Crops. The duration of their term is four years.
The scientific and technical liaison committee on marine fisheries and aquaculture is chaired, alternatively, by a representative of the marine fisheries and aquaculture sector and a research representative, elected to the committee for a period of one year.
The Scientific and Technical Liaison Committee for Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture meets at least once a year.
