The products listed in Appendix I to this Order are covered for a period of three years outside the scope of reimbursable goods and services, under theArticle L. 162-17-2-1 of the Social Security Codefor the benefit of patients with Ehers-Danlos syndromes under the conditions specified in annexes II and III.

The medical opportunity to maintain the prescription of the products referred to in section 1 is assessed jointly by the treating physician and the consulting physician within five years of the commencement of the application of the care protocol referred to in theArticle L. 324-1 of the Social Security Code.

The Director of Social Security and the Director General of Health are responsible, each with respect to him, for the execution of this Order, which will be published as well as his annex to the Official Journal of the French Republic.

    GENERAL MODALITIES OF PRESCRIPTION
    Condition of prescription and patient monitoring


    In accordance withArticle L. 162-17-2-1 of the Social Security Code, for the therapeutic indication referred to in Appendix II, the company(s) distributing the products referred to in Appendix I are required to establish, in connection with the High Health Authority, an observational study for a period of two years, with the main objective of assessing effectiveness. The business(s) must also, at the end of the three-year period referred to in section 1 of this Order, file an application for registration on the list of products and benefits referred to inArticle L. 165-1 of the Social Security Code for the following treatment: symptomatic treatment of joint pain associated with Ehlers-Danlos syndromes.


    Technical specifications


    The technical specifications are the same as those of compressive clothing in large fogs, with the exception:
    – applied pressures: those of compressive clothing used in Ehlers-Danlos syndromes are less than those used for mistled; compression pressures are between 10 and 13.5 mmHg, for a 24 cm perimeter application, and between 6 and 10 mmHg, for a 55 cm perimeter application;
    ― the extension of the fabric or knitting: for Ehlers-Danlos syndromes, the extension is at least 100% in the width and length.


    Terms of limitation and use


    Only custom-made clothing are covered. Compressive clothing must be prescribed for each outstanding joint. The prescription is made by doctors from the reference centre, rheumatologists, specialists in physical and rehabilitation doctors or dermatologists.
    Compressive clothing is prescribed due to a set of two clothes per patient, per six-month period, renewable as needed. If necessary, gloves and mittens can be renewed within a shorter period than six months. For children under the age of sixteen, regardless of location, they are prescribed for a set of two clothes per patient, per six-month period.
