Having regard to the amended decision of 23 November 1987 on vessel safety;
In view of the opinion of the Central Security Commission at its 831st session on 6 January 2010,

Division 311 "Marine Equipment" of the Regulations annexed to the above-mentioned Order of November 23, 1987 is amended as follows:
I. ― The text of paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of section 311-1.01 "Implementation" is replaced by the following text:
“1. Except as otherwise expressly provided, this Division applies to the marine equipment listed in Schedule 311-1.A.1, on or after April 6, 2010.
2. The marine equipment listed in Appendix 311-1.A.1, on board before April 6, 2010, is approved in accordance with Division 311 in force as amended by the order of February 12, 2009 issued in the Official Gazette of March 12, 2009.
3. The equipment described as "new article" in the column "Name of Article" in Appendix 311-1.A.1, which was manufactured before April 6, 2010, in accordance with the type approval procedures in force before April 6, 2010, as well as the equipment transferred from Appendix 311-1.A.2 to Appendix 311-1.A.1, which bear the "made before April 6, 2010" markings, may be placed on the market and issued by the certificate »
II. ― Existing annexes 311-1.A, 311-1.A.1 and 311-1.A.2 are replaced by annexes 311-1.A, 311-1.A.1 and 311-1.A.2 included in the schedule to this Order.
The Director of Maritime Affairs is responsible for the execution of this Order, which will be published in the Official Journal of the French Republic.
