In the light of the opinion of the Inter-Ministerial Commission on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (CITMD) in its sessions on 2 December 1998 and 13 November 2002,

Bureau Veritas is an expert authorized under 6.8.2.4.5 of the above-mentioned ADR and RID Orders.
Bureau Veritas is an expert approved under paragraphs 3.1 (4), 4 and 5.2 of Appendix D 1 of the ADR Order.
Bureau Veritas is an expert approved under paragraph 2.6 of Appendix D 8 of the ADR Order.
Pursuant to Article 39 of the ADR Order, the regional branches of industry, research and the environment (DRIRE) control the activity of Bureau Veritas.
To conduct the tests, inspections and verifications of the tank cars provided for in 6.8.2.4.1 and 6.8.2.4.4 of the RID Order, the Veritas Office shall be delegation of the competent service of the SNCF.
Veritas Bureau shall, in order to carry out the operations arising out of its approvals referred to in sections 1 to 3, comply with the terms and conditions set out in the procedures established on this subject by the Minister for Transport, the Minister for Industry and the Minister for the Environment.
Bureau Veritas is required to observe any directives and procedures relating to the application of the regulatory provisions, which are notified to it either by the Minister responsible for transport or by the Minister responsible for industry and the Minister responsible for the environment, according to their powers specified in Article 3 of the ADR and RID Orders.
This approval may be withdrawn, suspended or restricted in the event of a serious breach of the obligations established by ADR and RID or under the conditions of Article 6 of this Order.
The provisions of this Order, revocable at any time, are in force only until 31 December 2003, except for extension.
The Director of Land Transport and the Director General of Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection are responsible, each with regard to the execution of this Order, to be published in the Official Journal of the French Republic.
