Pursuant to the provisions set out in 1° and 2° of Article 4 of Decree No. 2006-1385 of 15 November 2006 amending Decree No. 93-622 of 27 March 1993 referred to above, the regulation and programme of the external and internal competitive examinations of the superior technicians of the studies and the exploitation of civil aviation are set out in the following terms.
An order of the Minister for Civil Aviation sets out the opening date of the tests, the deadline for applications and the number of positions to be filled.
The jury(s) of the external and internal competitions are designated by decrees of the Minister for Civil Aviation.
Recruitment for recipients of the Code of Military Disability Pensions and War Victims is carried out through a technical fitness examination in accordance with the regulations and program of the internal competition.
The Minister for Civil Aviation shall determine the list of candidates authorized to compete.
The nature, duration and coefficients of the eligibility tests and admission tests for each competition are set as follows:
I. External competition

Applicants must choose an optional test.
When registering, candidates make their choice among mandatory options and optional tests.
The optional live language written test covers the following living languages: German, Spanish, Italian and Russian.
A rating of 0 to 20 is assigned to each of the tests. Each rating is multiplied by the coefficient provided for in section 4 above to determine the eligibility of candidates.
Any rating less than 5 out of 20 for mandatory tests is eliminated. However, for optional tests, only notes above 10 of 20.
At the end of the eligibility tests, the jury(s) establish, in alphabetical order, the list of candidates authorized to present the admission examinations.
Candidates declared eligible are summoned individually.
At the end of the oral examinations of admission, the jury(s) prepare the list of candidates admitted in order of merit, by type of examination. Only persons who have obtained a number of points at least 170 points for the candidates of the external contest and 150 points for the internal competition for all the tests and a score at least 7 out of 20 at the oral English test.
The decision of 26 January 1999, last amended by the order of 12 March 2004, as well as by the decrees of 23 November 1999, 29 April 2002, 29 October 2002 and 5 August 2003, respectively setting out the rules and program of the competitions for the recruitment of superior technicians in the studies and operation of civil aviation, are repealed.
The present order will be issued in the Official Journal of the French Republic.
