Key Benefits:
An Order of the Minister of Interior, Homeland Security and Local Freedoms dated November 24, 2004 opened an internal competition for the year 2005 to establish a list of suitability for the duties of lieutenant of professional firefighters.
This competition will take place on the following dates:
- from Tuesday, 19 April 2005: written proof of eligibility;
- starting Monday, June 13, 2005: oral admission tests.
Candidates may apply to professional firefighters aged thirty-nine years at the latest as of January 1, 2005 (subject to age reductions provided for in legislation and regulations) and at that time justifying four years of effective service in this capacity.
An order issued in the form of notice in the Official Journal of the French Republic will later specify the number of possible entries on the aptitude list.
The written and oral examinations of this competition will take place in the examination centres, which will be set later by the Ministry of Interior, Homeland Security and Local Freedoms.
Those who wish to apply for this examination should:
- to submit, in writing, a request for a registration file, accompanied by an enclosed envelope of EUR 0.75 (format 23 x 33 cm) to the Ministry of Interior, Internal Security and Local Freedoms, Directorate of Defence and Civil Security (office of statutes and management), 1, Place Beauvau, 75800 Paris Cedex 8, no later than 28 February 2005 (the stamp of the position being held);

The deadline for receipt of complete applications by the competition organizing authority is Monday, March 7, 2005 (the stamp of the position being held).
No follow-up action will be reserved for applications made out of time (after 28 February 2005) and for applications received out of time (after 7 March 2005).
