Key Benefits:
An Order of the Minister of Interior, Overseas and Territorial Communities dated November 6, 2007 opened an internal competition for the year 2008 to establish a list of suitability for the duties of lieutenant of professional firefighters.
This competition will take place on the following dates:
- starting Tuesday, March 18, 2008: written proof of eligibility;
- starting Monday, May 13, 2008: oral admission tests.
Candidates may apply to professional firefighters aged thirty-nine years at the latest as of January 1, 2008 (subject to age reductions provided for in legislation and regulations) and justifying, at the time of the first trial, four years of effective service in this capacity.
An order issued in the form of notice in the Official Journal of the French Republic will later specify the number of possible registrations on the aptitude list.
The written and oral examinations of this competition will take place in the examination centers which will be set later by the Ministry of Interior, Overseas and Territorial Communities.
Those who wish to apply for this examination should:
- to submit, in writing, a request for a registration file, accompanied by an enclosed envelope of EUR 0.86 (format 23 x 33 cm), to the Ministry of Interior, Overseas and Territorial Communities, Directorate of Civil Defence and Security (Management and Competitions Office), Place Beauvau, 75800 Paris Cedex 08, no later than Monday, January 7, 2008 (the stamp of the position being held)

The deadline for receipt of complete applications by the competition organizing authority is January 14, 2008 (the stamp of the position being held).
No follow-up action will be reserved for applications made out of time (after 7 January 2008) and applications are incomplete or completed without delay (after 14 January 2008).
