Considering Act No. 263 of 5 February 1942 on the transport of dangerous substances;
Having regard to the amended decision of 1 June 2001 on the carriage of dangerous goods by road (known as "ADR");
Having regard to the amended decision of 5 June 2001 on the transport of dangerous goods by rail (see "RID Order");
Considering the application dated 19 March 2004 of the Bureau Veritas, sis 32-34, rue Rennequin, 75850 Paris Cedex 17;
In view of the opinion of the Inter-Ministerial Commission on the Transport of Dangerous Goods in its session of 20 October 2004,

The Veritas Bureau is an approved body, as part of Chapter 6.8 of the Annexes A to the ADR and I Order of the above-mentioned RID Order, to carry out the expertise and issue the corresponding approvals, referred to in subsection 6.8.2.3, of the prototype tank containers and portable tank boxes intended for the transport of dangerous goods of Class 7.
In order to issue its approvals, Bureau Veritas must comply with the terms and conditions set out in the procedures established in this regard by its care and endorsed by the Minister for Industry and the Minister for the Environment.
Bureau Veritas is required to observe any directives and procedures relating to the application of the regulatory provisions that are published in the Official Bulletin or are notified to it by the Minister for Industry and the Minister for the Environment, according to their powers specified in Article 3 of the ADR and RID Orders.
Pursuant to Article 39 of the ADR Order, the regional branches of industry, research and the environment (DRIRE) control the activity of Bureau Veritas.
This approval may be withdrawn, suspended or restricted in the event of a serious breach of the obligations established by ADR and RID or under the conditions of Article 2 of this Order.
The provisions of this Order, revocable at any time, are in force until 31 December 2007.
The Director General of Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection is responsible for the execution of this Order, which will be published in the Official Journal of the French Republic.
