The constitutive convention of the cultural public interest group "Centre de recherche du château de Versailles" can be consulted by any interested person at the headquarters of the group and the Ministry of Culture and Communication (direction of the museums of France).

Purpose of the group
The purpose of the group is to train and research on the places and expressions of power, its modes of exercise, its manifestations and its symbolism, including:
- the structure and functioning of the parish institutions;
- the habits, the minds of men;
- the circulation of men and ideas;
- the role of courses in the development of arts and sciences;
- the representation of power (identification, emblematic);
- palaces (architect and urban planning, decoration and furniture, collections);
- gardens (trace, botany, hydraulic) ;
- ceremonies, parties and shows.
