Order dated 9 October 2003 bearing approval of APAVE Group to attest to the conformity of packagings designed to contain 0.1 kg or more uranium hexafluoride

Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry and Minister of Ecology and Sustainable Development,
Considering Act No. 263 of 5 February 1942 on the transport of dangerous substances;
Having regard to the amended decision of 1 June 2001 on the carriage of dangerous goods by road (known as "ADR");
Having regard to the amended decision of 5 June 2001 on the transport of dangerous goods by rail (see "RID Order");
Considering the request of the APAVE Group dated 12 May 2003;
In view of the opinion of the Inter-Ministerial Commission on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (CITMD) in its session of 11 June 2003,
Stop:

Article 1


The APAVE Group is a certified inspector to certify the conformity of packagings designed to contain 0.1 kg or more uranium hexafluoride to the controls mentioned in 6.4.21.2 and 6.4.21.3 of the above-mentioned ADR and RID Orders.

Article 2


The ATA Group shall, in order to issue its certificates, comply with the terms and conditions set out in the procedures established in this regard by its care and endorsed by the Minister for Industry and the Minister for the Environment.

Article 3


The APAVE Group is required to observe any directives and procedures relating to the application of the regulatory provisions notified to it by the Minister for Industry and the Minister for the Environment, as specified in Article 3 of the ADR and RID Orders.

Article 4


Pursuant to Article 39 of the ADR Order, the regional directorates of industry, research and the environment (DRIRE) control the activity of the APAVE Group.

Article 5


This approval may be withdrawn, suspended or restricted in the event of a serious breach of the obligations established by ADR and RID or under the conditions of Article 2 of this Order.

Article 6


The provisions of this Order, revocable at any time, are in force until 31 December 2005.

Article 7


The Director General of Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection is responsible for the execution of this Order, which will be published in the Official Journal of the French Republic.
