Decree of 27 July 2004 amending the Decree of 21 August 1990 concerning the appellation of origin Controlled " Crémant de Limoux "

Prime Minister,
On the report of the Minister of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Rural Affairs and the Minister of State, Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry,
Vu Council Regulation (EC) No 1493/1999 of 17 May 1999 on the common organisation of the market in wine and the regulations made for its application;
Given the general tax code;
In view of the Customs Code;
Because of the rural code;
Given the code of consumption;
Given the amended Order in Council of August 21, 1990, relating to the definition of "controlled appellation of origin" Crémant de Limoux " ;
In view of Decree No. 2001-510 of 12 June 2001 on the application of the Consumer Code in respect of wines, sparkling wines, sparkling wines and liqueurs wines;
In view of the proposal of the National Wine and Life Committee of The National Institute of Appellations of Origin of 6 and 7 November 2003,
Décrète:

Item 1
Article 2 of the Decree of 21 August 1990 is replaced as follows:
" Art. 2. -The wines are derived from grapes harvested within the restricted area of production of the name " Blanquette de Limoux on parcels which have been the subject of a declaration of assignment with the services of the National Institute of Appellations of origin (INAO) no later than 31 May preceding the harvest. This declaration of assignment is attached to the declaration of harvest. "

Article 3 of the decree of 21 August 1990 is replaced as follows:
" Art. 3. -To be entitled to the name " Wine for the elaboration of Crémant de Limoux, the wines must come from the following grape varieties, excluding any other:
-main grape varieties: chardonnay B and chenin B. These two grape varieties considered Together cannot exceed 90 % of the item.
The channel B must be present with a minimum of 20 % and must not exceed 40 % of the insert;
-accessory varieties: mauzac B and pinot N.
These two varieties considered together or Separately may not exceed 20 % of the cash. The pinot N cannot exceed 10 % of the neck.

In Article 4 of the decree of 21 August 1990 mentioned above, section 1 is replaced by the following provisions:
" 1. Size: the name " Wine for the elaboration of Crémant de Limoux is reserved for wines originating from vines cut in accordance with the following provisions:

-a short 6-to-2-eye-eye size.

Article 5 of the above-mentioned Decree of 21 August 1990 is replaced as follows:
" Art. 5. -The basic performance of the basic wines referred to in Article R. 641-73 of the Rural Code shall be set at 7 500 kilograms of harvest per hectare.
The yield under Article R. 641-76 of the Rural Code shall be set at 9 000 kilograms of grape harvest per hectare. "

Article 6 of the decree of 21 August 1990 is replaced as follows:
" Article 6. -The name " Wine for the elaboration of Crémant de Limoux shall be reserved for wines of a natural alcoholic strength minimum of 9.5 %, derived from grapes harvested at good maturity and presenting for each unit lot of sale Natural wealth corresponding to at least 153 grams of sugar per litre of must.
The grapes must be put in the press in the evening. They shall not be overwritten or ginned.
As of the 2007-2008 season, the pressurizing facilities shall be approved by the National Wine and Life Committee of the National Institute of Appellations of

Article 8 of the Decree of 21 August 1990 is replaced as follows:

In Article 9 of the aforementioned decree of 21 August 1990, paragraphs 3 and 4 are replaced by the following provisions:
" The shelf life on lees cannot be less than 12 months.
