Summary

This Act authorizes the Ratification of the Additional Protocol to the Agreement between France, the European Atomic Energy Community and the International Atomic Energy Agency on the application of guarantees in France.The Additional Protocol extends the scope of the Competence of the IAEA primarily by providing for the communication of four new types of information: - those relating to cooperation in the civil nuclear field, undertaken by France (public or private bodies) with NNWS, in Stages of the nuclear fuel cycle. -information to improve the performance of guarantees in France, in nuclear installations that have been designated by the IAEA for regular inspections; - those relating to imports and exports, from or to a ENDAN, medium or high activity waste containing plutonium, highly enriched uranium or uranium 233 for which the guarantees have been lifted; - finally, those relating to imports and exports, from or to An NNWS, certain equipment or non-nuclear materials referred to in the annexes to the Additional Protocol. The other fundamental element of the protocol is the granting of complementary, non-systematic access to the IAEA.

The National Assembly and the Senate have adopted,
The President of the Republic enacts the following:

Sole Article

It is authorised to ratify the Additional Protocol to the Agreement between France, the European Atomic Energy Community and the International Atomic Energy Agency concerning the application of Guarantees in France, signed in Vienna (Austria) on 22 September 1998, and whose text is annexed to this Law (2).
This Law shall be enforced as the law of the State.
