The Osteopathy Training Order of March 25, 2007, to the Accreditation Board of Training Institutions and Measures Override

The Minister of Health and Solidarity,
In view of Act No. 2002-303 of 4 March 2002 on the rights of patients and the quality of the health system, and in particular Article 75 thereof;
Given the decree N ° 2007-435 of 25 March 2007 on acts and conditions for the exercise of osteopathy;
In light of Decree No. 2007-437 of 25 March 2007 on the formation of osteopaths and the approval of training establishments,

The common formation of osteopaths consists of two phases:
-a phase of 1,435 hours, theoretical teachings of basic science and human biology;
-a phase of 1,225 hours, Theoretical and practical lessons of osteopathy.

The theoretical teaching phase of basic science and human biology breaks down into six training units:
Training Unit 1: physiology, pathology of children and adults (560 Hours):
General information about major functions;
Concepts of medicine, surgery: major functional signs, warning signs of major pathologies;
Notions on major therapeutic
. Training 2: Psychosociology, Ethics, Ethics, Medico-Legal Aspects (105 hours):
General psychology, patient-caregiver relationship, specific approach to population groups (disabled, elderly, children ...) ;
Notions of ethics, professional secrecy, professional rules in relation to the patient and different players in the health system.
Training Unit 3: musculoskeletal system, trauma (315 hours):
Anatomy, morphology, Biomechanics, major diseases of the child and adult.
Unit of formation 4: central and peripheral nervous system (245 hours):
Anatomy, physiology, major neurological disorders of the child and adult.
Unit 5: osteo-joint apparatus (140 hours):
Anatomy, physiology, major rheumatic diseases of the child and adult.
Unit of formation 6: cardiovascular and respiratory system (70 hours):
Anatomy, Physiology, major diseases of the child and adult.

The theoretical and practical teaching phase of osteopathy consists of three training units:
Training Unit A: the concept and techniques of osteopathy (210 hours):
General Notions Provided in theoretical teaching (1/ 3) and practice (2/ 3) in training establishment.
Training Unit B: palpatoire and gestural approach to osteopathy (315 hours):
Acquisition of the technique through practical instruction in Training establishment.
Training Unit C: applications of the techniques of osteopathy in the musculoskeletal system and myofascial (700 hours):
Theoretical teaching (1/ 3) and practices in training institutions and apprenticeships Therapy with an osteopath only (2/ 3).
Teaching about a visceral or cranio-sacred approach, practices related to the urogenital sphere, and a practice of osteopathy in pregnant women is Strictly excluded from training.

I. -Each training unit in the theoretical teaching phase of basic science and human biology is evaluated by a written knowledge test scored out of 20 points and validated if at least one score is obtained
This written test is relative to the main themes of the relevant training unit.
II. -Each training unit in the theoretical and practical teaching phase of osteopathy is subject to knowledge control in the form of written, practical or vocational tests according to the training unit
The training unit A is evaluated by a written knowledge test scored out of 20 points and validated if a score is obtained at least 10 of 20.
The training unit B is evaluated by a test Training practice by two teachers of this one, scored out of 20 points and validated in case of a score of at least 10 of 20.
The training unit C is evaluated by the validation of clinical placements noted on 20, In case of a score of at least 10 of 20.
III. -For each uncommitted training unit of the two phases defined in Articles 2 and 3 of this Order, a catch-up event shall be organised within three months of the first test.
The validation conditions at the end of the The catch-up event is the same as the first test.
In the event of a failure after the catch-up event:
-obtaining the unvalidated training units is subject to the follow-up of the lessons learned in each of them. Validation of the knowledge control tests;
-the candidate may attempt twice as much and within a maximum of three years the validation of the unvalidated training units. Beyond these conditions, the student must pass all the training units in the theoretical teaching phase of basic science and human biology.

Persons with a diploma, title, certificate or authorization to practise the profession of doctor or physiotherapist are exempt from the entire phase Theoretical teachings of basic science and human biology as defined in section 2.
Persons with a degree, title, certificate or authorization to practise midwifery or nursing are exempt from units Training 1, 2 and 6 of the theoretical teaching phase of basic science and human biology as defined in section 2.
Persons with a degree, title, certificate or authorization to practice another health profession Entered in the book Ier or in Title I to VII of Book III of Part IV of the Code of Public Health shall be exempted from the formation unit 2 of the theoretical teaching phase of the basic sciences and human biology defined at Section 2.


Approval of training institutions

Article 6


Approval institutions referred to in Chapter 3 of Decree No. 2007-437 of 25 March 2007 referred to above, file their case with the Regional Affairs Directorate The health and social sectors in which the departmental health and social affairs department is located in Mayotte.

Article 7


Applicants for approval, by post, with a request for notification of receipt to the Regional Directorate for Health and Social Affairs responsible or to the departmental management of health and social affairs in Mayotte, in addition to The application form for authorisation annexed to this Order, a duplicate file containing the following documents:
1 ° The curriculum vitae and the extract from the criminal record (Bulletin No 2) of the legal person responsible for The institution;
2 ° The statutes of the training institution and its current capacity;
3 ° The description of all training courses delivered in the institution concerned;
4 ° Evidence of compliance with formalities and rules Defined in Articles L. 731-1 to L. 731-17 of the code of education;
5 ° The advertisements and information documents (papers, website, ...) of the public and candidates on the training provided;
6 ° The description of premises and materials Pedagogical;
7 ° The opinion of the departmental advisory committee on safety and accessibility relating to the institution concerned and the premises intended for training in osteopathy;
8 ° The description of the training delivered in Osteopathy: pre-requisite for entry into training, selection methods, training repository (number of hours, distribution of subjects taught ...);
9 ° The educational project, the traineeships and any element concerning the tutoring of the Traineeships;
10 ° The qualification of the teaching team;
11 ° Proof of commitment in an approach to evaluating the quality of teaching;
12 ° The annual cost of training, its decomposition and the supporting evidence.

Article 8


Once complete, the regional branch of health and social affairs or departmental management Health and social services in Mayotte shall transmit applications for approval to the secretariat of the National Commission for Accreditation provided for in Article 6 of Decree No. 2007-437 of 25 March 2007 referred to
. By registered letter with a request for notification of receipt, its reasoned decision after the opinion of the aforementioned committee and a list of registered establishments.
This list distinguishes:
1 ° Health care professionals Entered in Book I and in Titles Ier to VII of Book III of Part IV of the Code of Public Health;
2 ° Institutions open to non-holders of a diploma, certificate, title or authorisation enabling them to exercise one of the Health Professions referred to in Book I and Titles Ier to VII of Book III of Part IV of the Public Health Code.


Application for authorisation to use the title of osteopath

Article 9


The persons referred to in Article 16 of Decree No. 2007-435 of 25 March 2007 referred to above, by post, with the request for a notice of receipt, to the regional prefect or to the representative of the State in Mayotte a duplicate file consisting of the following parts:
1 ° Complete identification of the applicant (name, first name, contact information, copy of identification);
2 ° A letter of request to use the professional designation of osteopath;
3 ° An attestation on the honour that they have followed the minimum training Provided for in Article 1 of this Order;
4 ° All the supporting documents proving that they have actually followed this training in accordance with the provisions of the said article and the detailed programme of the training followed;
5 ° The certificate or title Issued by the training institution attesting to the knowledge acquired;
6 ° The detailed description of their osteopath activity (start date, type of acts performed ...) and any document justifying their osteopath experience.

The Director General of Health and the Director of Hospitalization and the Director of Care shall each have responsibility for the execution of this Order, which shall be published in the Official Journal Of the French Republic.

Training establishment statuses, current capacity, description of premises and teaching materials.
Description of the ensemble Training in the institution concerned.
Evidence, where appropriate, of compliance with the formalities and rules laid down in Articles L. 731-1 to L. 731-17 of the Education Code.
Opinion of the Departmental Commission Security and accessibility.
Advertising and information materials (papers, website ...) of the public and potential candidates on the training provided.
Description of training delivered in osteopathy with evolutions
Pedagogical project, traineeships.
Qualification of the teaching team.
Proof of commitment in an approach to evaluating the quality of teaching.
Annual cost of training, decomposition and
Signature of the legal person responsible for the establishment, date and stamp.
The application for approval must be addressed to the Regional Health Directorate of the region or to Mayotte of the place of establishment.
