Decree of 17 March 2004 on the designation of controlled origin " Valençay "

Prime Minister,
On the report of the Minister of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Rural Affairs and the Minister of The economy, finance and industry,
Having regard to Council Regulation (EC) No 1493/1999 of 17 May 1999 on the common organisation of the market in wine and the regulations made for its application;
In view of the general tax code;

Given the rural code;
Given the code of consumption;
In view of Decree No. 2001-510 of 12 June 2001 on the application of the consumption code with regard to wines, sparkling wines, sparkling wines and liqueur wines ;
Given the proposal of the National Wine and Life Committee of the National Institute of Appellations of Origin of 6 and 7 November 2003,
Décrète:

Item 1
Only can benefit from controlled appellation of origin " Valençay " Followed or not the name " Val de Loire " White, red and rosé wines meeting the conditions laid down in this Decree.

The geographical area of wine production is the territory of the following communes:


Department of Indre


Chshelters, Faverolles, Fontguenand, Luçay-le-Mâle, Lye, Menetou-sur-Nahon, Parpeçay, Poulaines, Valençay, Varennes-sur-Fouzon, Vernelle (La), Veuil, Villentrois.


Loir-et-Cher Department


Selles-sur-Cher.
