Order of 26 February 2003 amending the order of 11 July 1958 on the designation of origin High-quality Delimited Wine " Tursan "

The Minister of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Rural Affairs, the Minister Delegate to the Budget and Budget Reform, and the Minister Secretary of State for Small and Medium Enterprises, Trade, Craft, Liberal Professions and Consumer Affairs,
In the light of Council Regulation (EC) No 1493/1999 of 17 May 1999 on the common organisation of the market in wine and the Regulations made for its application;
In view of the general tax code;
Due to the customs code;
Due to the rural code;
Given the code of consumption;
In light of Decree No. 60-1284 of 30 November 1960 on the limited wines of the Superior quality;
In light of Decree No. 2001-510 of 12 June 2001 on the application of the Consumer Code with regard to wines, sparkling wines, sparkling wines and liqueur wines;
In the light of the amended Order of 11 July 1958 on Conditions for the award of the label High quality demarcated wines to wines benefiting from the appellation of origin ' Tursan " ;
In the opinion of the National Wine and Life Committee of the National Institute of Appellations of Origin of 5 and 6 June and September 4 and 5, 2002,

Article 1


In Article 2 of the Order of 11 July 1958 referred to above, the provisions appearing at the following points: Development, minimum degree, quantum per hectare, cultural methods " Are replaced by the following:


" Management


Wines come from the assembly of the main grape varieties and possibly complementary grape varieties in the following proportions:


White wines


Main page:
-Baroque B: representing a minimum of 30 % of the cropping up to the 2009 harvest and between 30 % and 80 % of the harvest from the 2010 harvest.
Additional pages:
-small B, large, B, The set representing 50 % maximum of the developer;
-small B: 20 % maximum;
-sauvignon B: 30 % maximum;
-chenin B (cruchinet): 20 % maximum.


Red wines


Cépages Main:
-tannat N: 30 % minimum of the insert;
-free cabernet N: 30 % minimum.
Additional pages:
-cabernet-sauvignon N, fer N, the set representing a minimum of 10 % of the harvest from the harvest 2010.


rosé wines


Main pages:
-tannat N: between 10 % and 30 % of the insert;
-cabernet franc N: 50 % minimum.
Additional pages:
-cabernet-sauvignon N, fer N: set 40 % maximum of the insert.

Product Richness


Grapes must be harvested at a high level of maturity and naturally present a minimum sugar richness of 161 g/l for white wines, 170 g/l for red wines and rosé wines.
White wines must present a Alcoholic strength by volume as a minimum of 10 % vol. Before enrichment and a maximum alcoholic strength by volume of 13 % vol. Red and rosé wines must have a minimum alcoholic strength of 10.5 % vol. Before possible enrichment and a maximum total alcoholic strength by volume of 13.5 % vol.
The concentration of fermentable sugars shall be less than 4 g/l for white wines, 3 g/l for red wines and 4 g/l for rosé wines.


Quantum


The quantum per hectare provided for in Article 5 of the decree of 30 November 1960, as amended, is set at 55 hectolitres per hectare of vines in production for white, red and rosé wines. The maximum volume labelled may not exceed 68 hectolitres per hectare of vines in production for white, red and rosé wines.
The benefit of the appellation may be granted to wines originating from young vines only from the The second year following the year in which the plantation was carried out before 31 July.
In any operation planted with both vineyard and appellation of origin Delimited wine of superior quality " Tursan and vineyards Producing other wines, the yield per hectare of the latter is assumed to be at least 10 % higher than that of the former.

Cultural Methods


Planting density must be at least 4,000 feet per hectare.

Article 2


Article 3 of the Order of 11 July 1958 referred to above:
-the first subparagraph is supplemented by the following provision :
" When the grape varieties are vinified separately, the assembly must be made in the vinar containers prior to the analytical and organoleptic examinations " ;
-the second paragraph is replaced by the following:
" The issue of the label provided for in Article 1 of this Order shall be effected in accordance with the procedure referred to in the aforementioned decree of 30 November 1960 ".

Article 3


The Director of Economic and International Policy at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Rural Affairs, the Director General of Competition, Consumer and Rural Affairs The Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry shall be responsible for the execution of this Order, which shall be published in the Official Journal of The French Republic.
