In accordance with the decision of the Parliament:

CHAPTER 1

Objectives and State contribution (23.11.2007/1066)

ARTICLE 1 (25/04/2013)

Theatres and orchestras shall be allocated a State contribution to operating costs, in accordance with the law on the financing of teaching and cultural activities (1705/2009) And this law provides.

What this law provides for theaters also applies to circuses.

On the financing of education and culture 635/1998 Has been repealed by L for the financing of education and cultural activities 1705/2009 .

§ 1a (23.11.2007/1066)

The objective of the State contribution to theatre and orchestra is to produce theatre and orchestra services and to promote regional accessibility and accessibility for the different population groups.

ARTICLE 2 (23.11.2007/1066)

A condition of obtaining a State contribution is that:

(1) the theatre or the orchestra is owned by a municipality or by a municipality or a private entity or a foundation whose statutory tasks include performing theatre or orchestra activities, or maintaining a theatre or orchestra;

(2) the theatre or the orchestra carries on permanent and professional performances;

(3) the theatre or the orchestra has at least one full-time worker and the person responsible for artistic activity as a person with training or an adequate knowledge of the industry;

(4) the activities of the theatre or the orchestra are subject to economic conditions, but the theatre or orchestra is not, however, maintained for the pursuit of financial gain;

(5) theatre or orchestra has an operational and economic plan;

(6) The production of theatre or orchestra services is necessary.

Theatres and orchestras entitled to a State contribution are:

(1) theatres and orchestras approved by the Ministry of Education and Culture, within the limits of the budget of the Ministry of Education and Culture;

2) Svenska Teatern i Helsingfors and the Tampere Workers' Theater.

§ 4 (25/04/2013)

Within the limits of the State budget, the Ministry of Education and Culture decides on the number of years to be used as a basis for calculating the state share of the theatre and the orchestra.

§ 5 (18.12.1995/1460)

Notwithstanding the provisions of the Act on the financing of teaching and cultural activities, the State share of the Theatre Elsinfors Theatre, Svenska Teatern i Helsingfors, and the Tampere Workster, is 60 %.

CHAPTER 2

State aid

ARTICLE 6

A State contribution to the project to establish a legitimate theatre and an orchestra can be granted, within the limits of the State budget, as provided for by the Law on the financing of education and culture.

The Ministry of Education and Culture may grant State aid to the Finnish National Theatre within the limits of the State budget for operating costs and the establishment of the project.

The Ministry of Education and Culture may decide, within the limits of the State budget, to grant extra state aid to theatres and orchestras of national or regional importance.

The Ministry of Education and Culture may, within the limits of the State budget, grant State aid for the development of theatres and orchestras.

CHAPTER 3

Miscellareous provisions

§ 7

More detailed provisions on the implementation of this law shall be adopted, where appropriate, by a regulation.

§ 8

State shares and grants within the meaning of this Act may be used for the profit and loss of the lottery and the lottery.

CHAPTER 4

Entry into force

§ 9

This Act shall enter into force on 1 January 1993.

Before the entry into force of this Act, measures may be taken to implement it.

At the time of entry into force of this Act, the theatre and the orchestra will be required to fulfil the conditions for obtaining a State contribution under Article 2 from the beginning of 2009 in order to continue to receive a State contribution.
