Regulation on the use of Sami language in public authorities

The presentation of the Minister of Justice is governed by the Law of 8 March 1991 on the use of the Sami language in the public authorities (1016/91) Pursuant to Articles 23 and 29:

ARTICLE 1 (22.12.1995/1728)

Where the authority or body is required to issue the original document to the authorities in accordance with (1016/91) By virtue of a translation, it can take care of the translation itself if it is employed by a person who knows the language. The authority or body may also obtain a translation from the office of the Sami language referred to in Article 21 of that law or from an official translator who has the right to complete translations of the language or the language of the Sami language.

ARTICLE 2

The above translation must be certified by the office of the Sami language or by the person who carried out the translation.

ARTICLE 3

When an oral hearing is carried out under the law on the use of the Sami language according to the law adopted by the authorities, the authority or body shall carry out the interpretation or obtain an interpreter through an office of the Sami language, or otherwise.

§ 4

Authorities with an internal language of the Sami language may use the language of the Sami language in their pleadings addressed to the authorities and bodies referred to in Article 3 (1) and (2) of the law on the use of the Sami language; and The authorities of municipalities and other autonomous communities and federations of municipalities referred to in Chapter 3 of that Act.

§ 5

Under Article 23 of the Law on the use of the language of the authorities for the acquisition of knowledge of the language of the Sami language may be granted if the official age of the official or the staff member's employment relationship with the same authority or institution Has lasted at least a year.

ARTICLE 6

This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 January 1992.
