In accordance with the decision of the Parliament, which has been adopted in accordance with Article 67 and Article 69 (1) of the Statutes,:

ARTICLE 1 (2) (2)
Selection of representatives

The Parliament shall elect five representatives and an equal number of alternates for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in the first parliamentary term of the parliamentary term.

ARTICLE 2
Term of office

The term of office of the representatives shall begin as soon as they have been elected and shall continue until the new election has taken place.

ARTICLE 3
Organise of representatives

The representatives form the Finnish delegation of the Council of Europe. The members of the delegation shall elect a Chairperson and a Deputy Chairperson from among their number.

§ 4
Role of the representatives

Members of the Finnish delegation of the Council of Europe and, where appropriate, alternates shall, as representatives of Finland, participate as representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council within the meaning of the statutes of the organisation.

The Finnish delegation of the Council of Europe shall report annually to the Parliament on the activities of the Parliamentary Assembly.

Secretaries and other staff

The staff of the Finnish delegation of the Council of Europe, however, shall be appointed by the Permanent Representatives Committee of the Parliament, after consulting the delegation.

ARTICLE 6
Entry into force

This Act shall enter into force on 1 May 1989.

Before the law enters into force, measures may be taken to implement the law.
