INDEX LEGISLATIVE DECREE No. 16

THE LEGISLATURE OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR, CONSIDERING
:
I. That the October 17, 2003, at the General Conference of the United Nations Organization United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, at its 32nd session, was adopted the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
II the instrument referred to in previous paragraph to has been approved by Executive Order No. 204/2012, of 14 February 2012 and submitted for consideration by the Legislature for inclusion in the Salvadoran legal system, current and positive.
III that the instrument contains no contrary to the Constitution of the Republic provision, being from ratification.
THEREFORE,
in use of the power provided for in Art. 131, ordinal 7 of the Constitution of the Republic in relation to Art. 168, ordinal 4 of the same, and at the initiative of the President of the Republic through the Minister of Foreign Affairs, DECREES
:
Art. 1. is ratified in all parts of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, which consists of a preamble and forty articles adopted on October 17, 2003, at the General Conference of the United Nations Organization for Education , Scientific and Cultural Organization, at its 32nd session, approved by the Executive Branch by No. 204/2012 Agreement of 14 February 2012.
Art. 2. This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
