1 Decree No. 203 the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of EL SALVADOR, considering: I.-that the article 131, ordinal 11°, of the Constitution states that it is Faculty of this legislature, enact, in a general way, benefits and tax incentives or of any nature, for the promotion of cultural, scientific and otherwise.
II.-that the force assembled since its inception, have been her men of honor and courage, who have served with patriotism, sacrifice and loyalty to the nation, in defense of the high interests of the Republic; considered as veteran, one who has been high in the armed forces, by means of a general order, any which has been its function, to a situation of withdrawal, or who has ceased his active service to the armed forces.
III.-in order to commemorate their commitment and dedication, this organ of State considered coming to declare January 31 of every year, "National day of Veterans of the armed forces".
Therefore, in use of his constitutional powers and at the initiative of the Deputy José Antonio Almendáriz Rivas; and the members of the legislature 2003-2006: Isidro Antonio Knight Knight, Romeo Gustavo Chiquillo, Hipolito Baltazar Rodriguez and John of Jesus Sorto Espinoza.
DECREES: article 1.-declare is the 31 of January of every year, "day national of the veteran of the force armed".
Article 2.-the present Legislative Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the official journal.
GIVEN in the blue room of the Legislative Palace: San Salvador, twenty-eight days of the month of November in the year two thousand twelve.
