1 index Legislative Decree No. 269 the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of EL SALVADOR, considering: I.-which in accordance with article 131, paragraph 22 of the Constitution of the Republic, is Faculty of this organ of State grant to individuals or populations, titles, honorary distinctions and gratuities consistent with the form of Government established by relevant services to the homeland.
II.-that article 6, literal to) the law of honorary distinctions, rewards and titles, establishes that the nomination of "son or daughter Mariasela of El Salvador" is a very high distinction and will be awarded to the Salvadoran people who engage in or have engaged in humanitarian and altruistic activities, or their momentous contributions or services to human knowledge , in such a way, that said provide represent national, regional or universal benefit.
III.-that the father Martín Enrique Ávalos Magaña, born April 13, 1963, Santa Ana, Santa Ana Department, is a Catholic priest and Licentiate in moral theology, which since its inception has shown dedication to its membership, doing various pastoral work through which the Salvadoran society has been benefited with his novel way of evangelizing.
IV.-that the father Martín Enrique Ávalos Magaña, is the founder of the Dei Verbum Ministry, whose name inspired by work of God, which means God's Word, and that since 2006 it became Foundation, bet on a novel way to publicize a living God, thus, initiating this important Evangelistic project, which has allowed the strengthening of moral and spiritual people , through music.
V-that this laudable priest has done through its Foundation, an altruistic work, developing actions which include: creation of a free dining room, scholarships to children, college students and seminarians, musical education and evangelization, which has caused production of audiovisual material, which has promoted peaceful social coexistence, and the rescue of moral values.
VI. under the merits before mentioned, is coming to declare father Martín Enrique Ávalos Magaña, "he son of El Salvador", in recognition of his outstanding pastoral work, which through the Verbum Dei Foundation, has done exemplary work in the interests of Salvadorian society.

Decree: Article 1.-declare the father Martín Enrique Ávalos Magaña, "he son of El Salvador", in recognition of his outstanding pastoral work, which through the Verbum Dei Foundation, has done exemplary work in the interests of Salvadorian society.
Article 2.-this Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the official journal.
