1 Decree Nº 289 the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of EL SALVADOR, considering: (I).-in accordance with article 131, paragraph 11 of the Constitution, is Faculty of this legislature enact, in General, benefits and tax incentives or of any nature, for the promotion of cultural, scientific, agricultural, industrial, or other.
II. that by means of Legislative Decree No. 154 of the revolutionary Governing Board, the five in March 1980, published the same day, in the Official Journal No. 46, vol. No. 266, allowed the expropriation by Ministry of law of rustic buildings exceeding 500 hectares, which became effective on 6 March of the same year.
III.-that starting from the entry into force of the referred decree, is established a new order economic and social, based in principles of Justice social; representing the six of March of 1980, a date important for the memory historical of El Salvador, especially for those people peasant, that managed the access to the land and their tenure, through the process of reform agrarian started in that time.
IV. that on the basis of the foregoing, is coming to declare March 6 of every year, "National day of the agrarian reform", in memory of the peasant who managed the land access and tenure.
Therefore, use of his constitutional powers and at the initiative of the deputies and members: Francisco Roberto Lorenzana Duran, Irma Lourdes palaces Vasquez, Damian Alegria, Blanca Noemi Coto Estrada, Rosa Alma Cruz Marinero, David Rodríguez Rivera; the members of the legislature 2009-2012: Marina Landaverde and Zoila Beatriz jaw Solis; and with the support of them deputies and members: Othon Sigfrido Reyes Morales, Lorena Guadalupe Peña Mendoza, Ana Marina Alvarenga Barahona, Dina Yamileth Argueta Avelar, white wake Barahona of Kings, Susy Lisseth Bonilla flowers, Yohalmo Edmundo Cabrera Chacon, Dario Alejandro girls Argueta, Jose Dennis Cordova Elizondo, Carlos Cortez Hernandez, Nery Arely Diaz of Rivera, Antonio Echeverria Veliz, Emma Julia Fabian Hernandez , Big Jesus, Estela Yanet Hernandez Rodriguez, Karina Ivette Sosa Lara, Audelia Guadalupe López de Kleutgens, Hortensia Margarita Lopez Quintana, Rodolfo Antonio Martínez, Guillermo Francisco Mata Bennett, Rolando Mata sources, Yeymi Elizabett Muñoz Morán, Mr. Orestes Fredesmán Ortez Andrade, Ismael Recinos López, Sonia Margarita Rodriguez Sigüenza, Abner Ivan Torres Ventura, Jaime Gilberto Valdez Hernandez and Ramon Aristides Valencia Arana.
Decree: Article 1.-declared on March 6 of every year, "National day of the agrarian reform", in memory of the peasant who managed the land access and tenure.

2 article 2.-this Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the official journal.
